We had only one night with dinner & breakfast. As you would expect with its location this is a very busy hotel but the staff in all areas were very helpful, the room was comfortable & the food very good. We had spent 7 hours in Machu Picchu & this was a great place to rest up!

Our tour included this hotel with dinner and breakfast. It's in an excellent location however AC is not a big town so I'm sure there are many other well situated hotels. The lobby is large and tastefully designed. The room we had was a good size but it was near the restaurant and it was extremely noisy!! The outdoor seating... More

As you might expect, we stayed here on the way to see Machu Picchu. This charming hotel was a very nice surprise. It was quite modern, very clean, and the location was excellent--close to everything. Our tour included breakfast and dinner in the hotel--both were very good. The bar was extremely friendly. The town is at the start of the... More

We spent only one night at El Mapi - and compared to our prior lodging (and other places I've stayed in central america) this place seemed wonderful. The beds were comfy (we are not talking Westin people!), decent sized room, clean, and hot water! (what a luxury that was). My window faced into a garden area without any seating, so... More

The El Mapi is quite a modern hotel in the little town of Aguascalientes. This was a pleasant surprise for us as we expected a lower quality. Our room was spacious and well laid out. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. The restaurant has great food and there is no reason to venture to any of the... More

The hotel is in a good location and public areas are lovely. Rooms are a decent size but are moldy smelling due to the hot springs nearby (folks return and sit on the couch/leather chair, etc). Dinner was good but service AWFUL--very slow--took way too long. There were only 3 couples when we arrived, but by the time we left,... More

Like several other reviewers, my wife and I stayed here as part of an organized tour group visiting the Galapagos Islands. Machu Picchu town (also known as Aguas Calientes) is nothing more than a brief stopping point on your way up to or down from Machu Picchu. Accommodations are quite basic and in fact most seem to be hostels catering... More

Boutique-type hotel with good location. After turning us away to check in 15 minutes before check-in time, we had a long lunch and came back thinking we could get our rooms quite easily, but for some reason it took them quite a while to check us in, even though we provided them all of our information earlier that morning. Not... More

While there is not a large choice of hotels in this little town, this was like staying in a dormatory. Rooms are sparse and not handicapped friendly....lots of stairs. They are very eco-friendly, which is great! Bathrooms are dated and have poor drainage in the shower stall. Restaurant was good but service was sooooooo slow. There are 3 buildings of... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a family vacation in May of 2013. It was a great hotel, well located right in the center of town. The lobby, bar, and restaurant were very modern and very nice. We enjoyed the breakfast here the best of any on our trip - the omelette and waffle station were great, although the... More
