I was staying in monkey wasi during low season and get very lucky because it wasnt that busy. I really like my stay there because of the great atmosphere the owner made of. We had a nice room. I felt very comfortable here, like at home and was glad about such a friendly, uncomplicated hostel. Everyone was friendly and helpful.The kitchen is clean and the price 20 soles for a shared room with not much people in it good. “Average at Best, Would Not Recommend”

I didn't have a bad experience and the 30.00 soles private room was inexpensive, but I have no idea how this place got it's #1 rating. The location is not that great, the hostel is minimally equipped at best, there were no towels/soap and the bathrooms were cramped and uncomfortable, and the owner (while outwardly nice) was running around all... “Very simple, very inexpensive, a great place for lowbudget travellers with not too high expectations”

The rooms are very basic. The kitchen can be used, but at the time of our stay it was quite filthy... There's a cool terrasse for evening beers and a bouldering wall for active guests. Staff was very nice and easy going

“Super relaxed place to chill after hiking and biking!”

Unfortunately I only had a short stay in Huaraz of two nights, but found Monkeywasi to be a perfect place to relax after hiking and biking. I arrived at 6am, and was able to check straight into a room and get some extra sleep before the owner Gustavo showed me around the town a bit. I didn't leave until 11pm... More
