A decent hotel with modern facilities... Only walking distance from Kandy Lake.... Good for those looking for a budget hotel.. Some rooms has the view of the pool and paddy fields behind the hotel... Food is good...

The Hotel Devon is a decent hotel up in the hills of Kandy. This hotel would have received a 4 out of 5 from us except the week of our stay there were lots of musty smells in the halls and especially in the elevator. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Hotel is in need of refurbishment. Good mattresses though. First night we were put in a room at the front of the hotel which suffers from a lot of noise from traffic (room 65). Second night we were put in a room next to the staircase and elevator (room 75): not good when you specifically asked for a quiet room.... More

We have stayed here twice and just love it wonderful friendly helpful staff. Rooms are big with good sized bathrooms very comfy beds, plenty of space we never use the AC at night it's cool enough and always have a room on the back. Dined at the restaurant. Buffet dinner for 1000 rupee.(with tax) food is incredibly tasty. Dessert absolutely yummy. The best chocolate mousse and cheese cake I' v had. Definitely worth the cost. Certainly will dine again

Room was big.Room was musty smelling which didn't help with my allergies. Opened up the balcony door for awhile to get some fresh air which didn't help when the mozzies came in.
