We never had, based on what other reviewers have noted, the extreme displeasure of meeting Mrs. Signh. It's also true that we did not actually stay in Devi Niwas, although we came dangerously close. We arrived in Jaipur by train, and had booked in advance with the Devi Niwas, who also kindly said they would send a rickshaw driver to... More

I stayed at the Devi Niwas from 7th-10th March 2012, so I had the chance to celebrate the Holi festival with them. The hotel is run by a lovely family with two exquisite kids, who were a real pleasure to interact with. The home-cooked food was delicious, the rooms large and clean, though basic. A big plus was the fact... More

I am a single female traveling alone and I read and heard about this hotel being very nice. I walked quite a ways to arrive only to be greeted by a hostile woman who did not even want to talk to me. When I asked the price, she made it seem as if she did not even want to give... More

We (2) stayed three days at the Devi Niwas and enjoyed every minute. The family was so nice to us - and the food delicious. The atmosphere at the place did truly outweigh the downside of some of the rooms. If going to Jaipur again, we will definitely go back.

This guesthouse is really nice, all the family is always available and help you for everything! It is possible to eat there and we recommend it, we liked it a lot! They are good cookers. In this place you meet many tourists and all are wrotten on the wall before to leave!!

The Devi Niwas is located in a very nice area of Jaipur. It is a family home with guest bedrooms (AC and non AC). The food is the highlight with fresh, local dishes adequately priced. The rooms have high ceilings and the beds are comfortable. My wife and I originally had a non AC room but decided to upgrade due... More

Ms. Singh and family are sullen and miserable, maintain a dirty property with a nasty menagerie of forlorn animals, and beat their old dog who stares at you with sad pleading eyes. Despite the colorful and effusively positive comments scrawled all over the place, we were underwhelmed by the poor service, dusty rooms, lack of ANY (hot or otherwise) water... More

Devi Niwas Hotel is a charming and simple guesthouse in a quiet neighbourhood in Jaipur. The rooms were not very clean but acceptable for a night or two. Food is excellent. Devi Niwas is run by an Indian family. Sometimes they are very friendly, sometimes they just ignore you.
