It is one of the nicest and quietest hotels around. There is free wifi, and a nice cozy restaurant The rooms are spotless , and when I called housekeeping for extra towels , they were at my door before I even hung up the phone.

Staying at HongQiao State Hotel was a superb experience. Upon entering the place, the hotel exterior presented more of a resort look. By our luck there was a big group from foreign countries who think they own the hotel and act very loudly.. Great location for reaching the train station.. This hotel is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. This is like a resort hotel, not the typical high-rise in Shanghai. The breakfast room, the lobby, and the central hall that the rooms surround are beautiful, sunny, open areas. It reminds me of some of the hotels we have stayed at in Costa Rica, and other tropical spots, etc.... More

A very clean and peaceful hotel with great service. Minutes away from the nearest subway too, very convenient. However prices were pretty steep for the small hotel room and breakfast.

This hotel is one of my favorite in China and my favorite in Shanghai. The little buildings in the garden complex is very relaxing and you can easily forget that you are in the largest city of Asia. It is a very good, beautiful and resort type hotel in centre of Shanghai. The rooms and surroundings are very good and you feel like you are at some hill station.
