We had 2 great days and nights here. Food was great, tours and guides could not be beat. The manager, Heidi, is warm and caring. Its a big place so it can be overrun with large, loud groups at times. There is no A.C. anywhere so be prepared to be dripping wet everywhere. Good wifi in lobby.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon around Costa Rica. Firstly, the lodge accommodation is basic - a bed in a room with a basic bathroom. BUT, we are deep in the rainforest! Those expecting TVs, mini-bars etc will be disappointed but what do you expect when you're staying in the wilderness? The location is fantastic... More

We stayed here for two nights. You must take about an hour boat ride (which is beautiful) to get to the property. Once there, we received a welcome drink and were shown to our cabin, which was part of a 4 room building (though they have some private villas). The room has no A/C, just screens for windows and fans... More

We enjoyed everything. It is so different. It's really the jungle. The screened in rooms were very comfortable, large, clean and gave the feeling of being part of the amazing outside. The boat rides are interesting and informative. We liked the boat tour, trip to town and the hikes. Oliver was a very good quide and it was worth it... More

The boat part of the trip to Tortuguero is quite exciting and arriving at the place is what you hoped to find when making your choise for Costa Rica. Cabins in the jungle for a stay is like a dream. And still all the confenience of a regular hotel are available. Two things to bear in mind when you book:... More

unless you are Tarzan and used to sleeping in trees...this place is a unique spot that you are unlikely to find any where else. Our own cabin plunked in the jungle with monkeys all around. And yet still all the comforts of a regular hotel (spotless rooms- adequate showers - swimming pool - and bar). Food was quite good given... More

We travelled from San Jose by bus, 3 hours, and boat for the last hour or so. The rooms are set in a forest area with no windows but security and mosquito screens. A great view out but a bit damp! But no problem. There are lots of trips on boats to see wildlife, on foot through the forest and... More

Evergreen lodge was an unforgettable start to our Costa Rica vacation! The boat trip, the monkeys in the trees, the colors of the jungle right around the huts are more beautiful than you can imagine. The huts offer basic comfort, good enough for two days (but it did not rain, otherwise the windows with gauze mesh only might have let... More

Tortuguero (which means Land of Turtles) was our first stop on a coast to coast trip to Costa Rica. It took almost all day to get to the resort from San Jose, first by bus over winding roads, then about an hour by boat through tight canals. Evergreen Lodge (and the entire town of Tortuguero) is very difficult to get... More

We did an eco-tour of Costa Rica with Collette Vacations - great value. Our first stop after San Jose was Evergreen Lodge. The only way into the Lodge is by boat (or possibly by air). There are no roads here. For someplace where one has to travel 10 miles an a very rough gravel road and then 1.5 hours by... More
