We showed up in Montezuma with no reservations so walked around and looked at several places before deciding upon here. It is a bit spendy for the area, but it served it's purpose. I've seen several reviews state that the jacuzzi had cold water, but I'm not sure if people realize NO PLACE in Costa Rica heats their jacuzzi's....in CR... More

Upon arriving in Montezuma, my sister and I went to our booked hotel, El Sano Banano. When we were escorted to our room, we discovered that our room was very small, dark and the one window didn't open. As I have claustrophobia that wasn't going to work. The hotel manager was very kind and gave us a full refund. She... More

This is a very nice and well located place, I really like the way they built it!! It has a nice view from the rooms on the of the property!! But all the rooms are OK, AC, Hot water, etc. Everything you need for some days at this gorgeous colorful town. The only bad/scary part of my experience was <the... More

We stayed here over New Year's and absolutely loved it. Location is great to access everything in Montezuma, but not noisy in the poolside rooms. We had one on the upper level with a hammock, sharing the balcony with the room next door. Having the pool and aircon were great options and the rooms were clean. The grounds were beautifully... This is a lovely hotel with exquisite grounds that reflect the natural beauty of Costa Rica. The staff are pleasant and accommodating. The casitas are charming with a bohemian and tropical feel. The vistas from the casitas are outstanding and the pool side rooms enjoy the beautiful landscapes. Yes, it is a steep climb to one of the casitas but... More

We where four adults, renting one of the houses. The one with two bedsrooms. The location is very good, but Montezuma is such a small place, so any location would be good. We wanted to stay in the house because it had kitchen. The kitchen was nice, clean, quite new. But, the whole house is crooked. And not just a... More

Montezuma is a tiny town, but El Jardin is located right in the centre of it all. We stayed here over the New Year so prices were a bit inflated, but overall we were happy with our choice. The steps up to the rooms are STEEP so be prepared. The rooms themsleves are nice and spacious and are clean. The... More

We stayed in the two bedroom villa at the top of the hill. The steps up to the loft bedroom are steep but worth the climb, great view of the ocean. A breeze travels through the villa therefore not having A/C is not an issue. The staff are very friendly, the pool is refreshing and you are steps away from... More

Montezuma is a very small town surrounded by steep hills so it is definitely an advantage to stay at a hotel in town to avoid a steep walk home at the end of the night. El Jardin is at the top edge of town and proved to be a good spot although you do still get some road noise for... More

Great place. Friendly staff, very helpful. AC was great(we were wimppy)!!! Read the negative reviews on this place. I dont get it.....we loved it and critters do crawl around on the roofs....Iguanas and I think that is very cool. It is a great liittle hotel for the less adventurous traveller. Keep in mind, Montezuma is off the beaten path and that... More
