I stayed here about 10 years ago and found it very pleasant. My recent experience could not have been more different - a rude and uncooperative staff and dreadful rooms. Apparently it changed ownership around 2005, and the new owners seem to be cynically aware of the fact that their's are the only lodgings within 50 miles or so of... More

We stayed here after backpacking in the Grand Canyon for 5 days. Thank goodness we ate at the North Rim before coming here. We were in a "condo" type room. Very cold, thin blankets, cold tile floors and some cheap liquid soap dispenser in the shower. We were all looking forward to showers so when I found there was no... More

We stayed here two nights. The choices are EXTREMELY limited at the North Rim, so make reservations early. We did not, and were stuck in a tiny 2 room cabin. It is very basic...shower booth and one double bed. But it served the purpose...in no way a 5 star hotel, but after all, you're in a remote, magnificent location with... More

We ate here one night and had a very nice experience. Our waitress was very pleasant, even comped us a dessert when we mentioned it was our anniversary. The food was good, and we thought we had a new find. The next night, we came back after a long day of hiking. We walked in and seated ourselves, which we... More

This is the closest accommodation if you can't get into the lodge at the north rim. It is the bare minimum and it is not cheap. Clean is the best I can say. No amenities - like a hair dryer for instance! Paper thin towels, no rugs, thin blankets, clanking heating units. And the restaurant was no better. Mediocre food... More

Wanted to stay at the north rim of the Grand Canyon, but there was nothing available back in April, so I called the Kaibab Lodge, about 15 miles from the rim of the canyon. Talked with a very nice lady who explained that their cabins very rustic. No TV, no phone and no cell service. I told her I had... More

A big thunder storm kept us from camping at the Grand Canyon North Rim, so we stopped at Kaibab to see if they had a place for the night. They had Sam's cabin left for over $140/night. We had no place else to go, so we paid the high rate. When we looked at the cabin we were shocked to... More

We spent 2 nights at this place and, while the location to the north rim was excellent, the accommodations left much to be desired. We were in a 'duplex' cabin and the walls are paper thin. We could hear the people next door talking and ended up banging on the walls at about 4:30 in the morning when they were... More

What this lodge has going for it is proximity to the Grand Canyon North Rim. I picked it despite some negative reviews to be 1/2 hour closer to the North Rim, as the National Park lodge was full. We stayed in a double cabin. Big mistake, as you can hear everything going on in the adjacent cabin. I even heard... More

We stayed in a small cabin with a double bed. lt was shabby and not in a shabby chic kind of way. The beds were murderous on the back! Wild animals in the meadow next to our cabin woke us up 3 times in the night. The folks in the cabin next to us had no hot water.
