What a treat. Who would have thought such a gem could be buried in its own secret valley? We wallowed in the fine cuisine and unrelenting friendliness of all the staff. We really enjoyed the friendliness of the communual dining but some chose to dine on smaller tables. We stayed on the 3rd and 4th May 2013.

Beautiful views from rooms and terrace across a wooded valley. Rooms are well appointed with private balconies, staff is efficient and very friendly. The restaurant is good, with a varied menu and decent wine selection, while the optional communal dining adds to a great atmosphere.The vervet monkeys around the terrace provide additional entertainment. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.

The five stars are for Plettenberg more so that Hog Hollow, its an amazing part of the world. Not to say we didn't enjoy HH, we did but in hindsight might have preferred being closer to the beach, which is fine really, just a preference.
