I really enjoyed staying in Clouds End. It has a very mordern exterior design but indoors its very homey. The rooms are like mini apartments with a sitting room with a very comfortable couch and tv with dstv. The caretaker is very nice and really respects guests regardless of age, race and gender.the bathroom has a very nice shower with... More

Comfortable guest house in Melville which is nice little suburb of Johannesburg. Arrived around midnight on our first night after a long flight. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Highlight of our stay was our trip to Soweto. We were taken there by Cedric the white Zulu ask Margaret to arrange a tour with him you won't be disappointed. He... More

We stayed here for 1 night while travelling with friends from KC en route from the Madikwe Reserve to Fugitive's Drift in Natal. For that purpose Clouds End was perfect with easy access from the ring road on arrival & we had an equally quick & uncomplicated journey to the N3 the following morning. In the evening we had a... We stayed in the Paddock Suite for the last two days of our honeymoon and had a great stay. The room is large and well decorated and in a fun location - a block from great restaurants (try the Loft and Soulsa). By far, the best part of this place is the owner Margaret. We took a tour of Joberg... More

At first sight, you cannot help but feel a little nervous due to the security everywhere in the area. This is one of the smartest suburbs but everybody lives behind high walls, security gates, razor wire and there are private security guards in 'sentry style' boxes in almost every street. Once you get used to this, if you are going... More

As other reviewers have noted, this guesthouse is perfectly situated about two blocks from the cute little area of Melville. 7th Street has many restaurants and bars, and we (2 women) felt safe walking (even though it was very dark...not many streetlights). I have limited mobility, and was pleased that, to get to the main area of Melville, you just... More

Most of what's been written about Cloud's End is all true. Melville is a nice suburb with plenty of restaurants just around the corner. We stayed for two nights and the rooms were spacious and clean. We felt breakfast let the B&B down. Neither morning did we get exactly what we ordered and what we did get wasn't of a... More

I booked two rooms having read the reviews here. I have to say it is in a great location. Melville, with its funky high street is really nice with plenty of bars and restaurants and was quite safe to walk around during the day. The mall is also close by, 10 minutes walk. As to the B&B itself, the rooms... More

My wife and I chose the Clouds End guest house as a place to recover from a long flight from the United States. The Clouds End was the perfect place situated in the quiet neighborhood of Melville. We were able to meet Margaret, the owner, and Deborah the general manager. We can't rave enough about their hospitality and willingness to... More
