I used to stay at this motel every President's Day weekend in the 1990s. It was called the EZ-8 Motel back then, and it was the lowest-priced motel in town (about $35 on weeknights, $40 on weekends). It was a rather ordinary place, but the best part of it was the nice heated pool and large heated jacuzzi. It was in a quiet corner and rarely used by guests. I enjoyed many an evening relaxing in the jacuzzi under the stars.
When I called this place for a reservation about a month before going there, the lowest price they would offer was $59.95. After a long drive there from San Diego, I was really looking forward to the jacuzzi. We drove in and to my astonishment, there was a big pile of concrete rubble where the pool and jacuzzi used to be. They demolished the best part of this motel.
