I wouldn't say I am an art hotel connoisseur, but I've stayed in a few of them over the years (Hotel Des Arts in San Francisco, Art Luise Kunstshotel in Berlin, the Carlton Arms in New York City), so I was very much looking forward to visiting the Daddy Long Legs Botique Hotel and exploring and sleeping in a few... LOVED staying here. The rooms are all really fun and decorated differently. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. This place is not five star luxury and it's also not backpacker messy-- perfect medium place. Great location, can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. HIGHLY recommend to all.

We stayed in the Emergency Room - not the most relaxing atmosphere, but we loved it. This isn't the hotel for people who need to be in the lap of luxury, but it's perfect for people with a sense of fun and an appreciation for art. Staff were helpful and we were welcomed with a complimentary drink. We loved the... More

If this were being reviewed solely as a hotel, it would be tempting to rate it three (average); if it were being reviewed solely as an experience/place to visit/attraction/art installation, it would get a five (excellent). Hence, a four. As a hotel, it is pretty basic - all rooms have a bed, toilet, shower, safe, and aircon; some rooms have... More

This is no luxury, high-class, high-service hotel, but for well travelled and more adventurous people this is the place to stay in central Cape Town. A warm and friendly reception. Besides being safe and clean, the rooms are an experience by themselves. Each is uniquely designed by different artists. We got the karaoke room called "Do not disturb" which is... More

We chose to stay in a different room every night and had the excitement of opening a door to a new world each afternoon. Imagine stepping into a room with fake grass on the floor and microphones dangling from the ceiling, or walking into a kinky red hospital room with mirrors everywhere, or a room decorated with beautiful sunsets, or... I am well past the age of the average backpacker, but this boutique hotel suited me perfectly. I love music, and Daddy Long Legs provided it both live and in theme. The Hotel sits just above a great music shop and a brilliant Cafe. The hotel is well placed for access to city and water front attractions in Cape Town.... More

We stayed in the Sunset Room, and it was nice. If you are a couple, check out the view from the bedroom window and look right ;) This place was really clean and mostly quiet. There are areas in the hotel that sound tends to travel/echo and can be loud. But in general it is quiet. The deck overlooks the... More

Being in our mid forties we were probably older than most of the guests, but it didn't matter at all. We stayed for three nights, each night in a different room. Highly recommended. The hotel is spotless, with someone at reception 24/7. WiFi was a bit spotty in some rooms, but not a big drama. We parked on the street,... More

Greetings from Daddy Long Legs Thanks for sharing your stay with us. Unfortunately due to our building being a heritage site, we'll never be able to make any structural changes, but on... More

The Daddy Long Legs engages you from the moment you step through the door. There are so many cool details, it really is like a treasure hunt. Each room is themed differently and has interesting names like "open" and "public phone". The girl who greeted us at reception was very friendly and helpful. She offered us our complimentary welcome drink... More
