It’s a pleasure to take time out to post on this website as we had really had a memorable stay in Cape Town at the Rutland Lodge last month! Can only recommend it – and we’ve been to Cape Town on several occasions and not had this kind of accommodation, let alone this kind of service! The vibes of the... More

I spent six nights at the Rutland Lodge in Cape Town. Our room #4, was spacious, elegant, filled with light with a view of the city, a swimming pool below our deck and a Jacaranda tree outside the french doors. The old colonial is in immaculate condition with a view of Table Mountain and original African art in every room.... More

I had the lovely pleasure of spending one night at Rutland and was thrilled that I had the opportunity to have such a beautiful experience. The hosts are charming and so very helpful. Breakfast is a wonderful way to start the day in the most beautiful dining room along with an excellent meal. The rooms are large, wonderfully appointed with... More

This beautiful colonial home is in the best part of Cape Town. Believe me, I am an ex-Cape Townian and know all the areas. It is picturesque and convenient. I travelled on my own and felt safe and totally at home. A few minutes taxi-ride (cheap) gets you to the Waterfront, and all the fantastic pubs and restaurants Cape Town... More

Rutland Lodge was the first stay as part of our 3 week honeymoon covering Cape Town, the Winelands and the Garden Route. It was our first ever vist to Cape Town and indeed South Africa. We arrived at the guest house early in the morning after a full day of travel but were immediately met with a very warm reception... More

Rutland lodge is a fantastic lodge to stay in. Rooms are very nice; very comfortable and the views are just amazing. The owners take care of every detail of your trip. They gave us a lot of tips on where to go to, and recommended great restaurants. These guys do understand who you should run an excellent boutique hotel. Don't... More

The Rutland Lodge is a great place to stay if you want great views of the city (and Table Mountain), peace and quiet, and to get away from the city a little bit. We stayed in the city center for the first part of our Cape Town visit, so being at Rutland was nice since we were looking to unwind... More

Beautifully decorated guest huse in a quiet area of Cape town but not far from the waterfront and Table Mountain (and the Mount Nelson hotel with their legendary cream teas!) . Very helpful hosts who provided lots of information about what to see and do and where to eat. Superb breakfasts with fantastic fruit salads and delicious cooked food. A... More

I resided in the upstairs suite, room no 5, which has a separate sitting area with ample cupboard space and a second TV. The room was equipped with mini bar, complimentary sherry, a full bathroom with bath and shower and toilet in the main bedroom. The toilet, not being separated might not appeal to everyone when travelling with a companion.... More
