We have been visiting George for many years. This is our first stay at Protea Hotel Outeniqua. Probably our best stay ever at any Protea hotel. The hotel does not offer the best facilities compared to other hotels in the Protea group but has by far the friendliest reception staff I have ever encountered. Well done!!!!! We will definitely return.... More

“Service after being stranded”

So after being stranded at George airport i was welcomed by Outeniqua Hotel with open arms. The Staff was extreamly helpful and provided me with everything i would need to have an unexpected over-night stay. The environment is stunning and the perfect tone was set for a peaceful nights rest and and the view is gorgeous.

From the moment I stepped in at hotel I was welcomed by good friendly people and that set the tone for the rest of my stay which I thorougly enjoyed. They always made that extra effort in you staying there and that was awesome knowing that you can ask them anything.

The staff are very friendly, the room is clean and all necessities are there. A very nice place to stay. I stayed over on my way back to East London from Somerset West as I needed to meet with someone the following morning

“A Bed 4 the nite”

Basic, reasoably priced 4 what you get and it is central aswell, Breaksfast is buffet style with a good range of foods.The main problem here is, as another traveller mentioned on Tripadvisor is the poor quality of cell reception. Hotel staff were not able to give a reason, but this is a major minus for business travellers.

“Good value for money decent and friendly place to stay, conveniently located in George”

We needed accomodation for the weekend while attending a wedding. The hotel is older, but its well kept and clean. The bathroom has a proper shower inside the bath with a glass partition. “A wonderful stay”

The friendly staff and comfortable room made me feel at home. The internet connection provided came in very handy and the breakfast each morning was delicious. If I ever travel to George again I would definitely make use of the Protea Hotel Outeniqua again.
