The hostel is located in a great location and easily walkable from main spots on Ave 9 de Julio and Congresso. We stayed on the 4th floor in a 4-bed private ensuite room and were satisfied with the room and amenities.

Stayed here for one week in the dorm rooms. They have a Decent argentinan breakfast (croissants, coffee/tea, fruit). Location is good, close to metro stations and ave de mayo and 9 de Julio, about 15-20min walk into the heart of San Telmo. Handy small grocery store down the street. Overall a great stay and a good clean hostel.

We stayed there for 5 nights in December 2011 with my wife. Double with privete bathroom very good value - hotel quality for AR$300, quite good breakfast (in compare what we got in the rest of the Argentina :)), nice kitchen (even if on the last day I met some warms at there, still nice), very good common areas and...

Another staggering bus trip this time through the Andes brought us to BA. Portal del Sur was a sound choice considering the Lonely Planet that I was reading on the bus was 5 years out of date. None the less, we gambled on my choice. It was busy even for off season at Portal del Sur, we walked in and...

Great location a block from Av de Mayo in BA's "Microcentro" (close to sights and subway).
However, a few complaints:
- No curtain to keep the room dark in the morning (daylight would wake me up early every day)
- Noisy
- Tiny bathroom: could hardly move around in the shower!
- Terrible breakfast
At USD 33/person for a private...

Stayed here for a week in January 2011 in a 4-bed dorm.
Good things: dorms are small (4 beds each) and are cheerful and clean. Mattresses comfy, beds made every day, lots of storage. Nice old house. Very central location. Staff are polite and available but nothing extraordinary. Nice patio and small bar on the roof. Most rooms including dorms...
