The whole concrete complex is huge and gives you a nightmarish feeling. They have only 20 large marginal furnished rooms but spacious common rooms and corridors. There is no warm water and electricity before 6p.m. what they tell you. Without warning it is again switched off between 10 p.m and 7 a.m. Breakfast is more than basic, it is bad, not to talk about the horrible lasagne for dinner. I understand, that at a very remote place expectations about food should be lowered a bit but this has more to do with will than with infrastructure. The WiFi is so slow that it is basically non existing. Everyone who watched Stephen Kings "The Shining" will be remembered to that movie. The staff is strangely uninvolved and the 2 black hellhounds make the rest. To add the positives, the place is clean and the location with a Laguna with flamingos and several other birds is fantastic

What can I say...found in the middle of nowhere this place gives off a "Stephen King - The Shining" vibe from the moment you see it, and that feeling does not go away once you step inside. The weird building design, wall art, two black hell hounds (ask anyone how dog friendly I am, but these dogs only added to the creepy atmosphere) and surroundings just served to reinforce the strange feeling surrounding this place. When "The Shining" was not springing to mind, a sense of either converted psych hospital or cult facility was strong. Other points of interest were: - no electricity until 6pm - showers only between 7 & 10, and the water was brown - may as well be no wifi as you either could not get on or if you did it was so slow you wondered why you even bothered finding out the password - dinner, if that was what you could call it, sorry can't even bring myself to comment on how bad the lasagne was, I am still traumatised by the memory that lasagne could be so bad - desert was served while dinner plates remained on the table, and fresh cutlery was not provided - excellent as I so wanted the flavour of the lasagne to linger - 2 hours after dinner we were still trying to open and drink the frozen water bottles provided with the meal, but I suppose when there is no electricity until 6pm, freezing is the quickest way to get the drinks cold, the problem was the wait staff did not bother to consider that frozen solid is not drinkable On the plus side - surroundings were truly beautiful

What to say about this hotel? Things haven’t changed much since the other reviews in English. First I should say - it is worth experiencing. But it’s an odd place. It’s vast despite being in the middle of an unpopulated (and amazingly beautiful) region. It seems to have been built by somebody with more money than sense. On arrival you’re greeted by a person with an off-hand attitude who doesn’t seem to really want you in the hotel - “well, you can stay but there’s minimal heating, and hot water only from 5-10pm” (at least we were warned!). The bedrooms are huge - but the heaters are small so it’s cold. Our bed had a thin duvet on it and no extra blanket in the cupboard, so I was cold in the night. We discovered the next morning that our daughter and son in law had a lovely warm duvet - almost too hot! The bathrooms have a bath, but there’s not enough hot water to take a bath, so there’s no plug. The common areas are huge and lovely with big windows looking out onto the flamingos in the small lake below the hotel, and quite nicely decorated with some local art - but again they can’t be heated sufficiently so they’re cold. There’s a room with hammocks that’s great to spend some time in, but yes it’s also cold. The dining room, which is also the entrance to the hotel is large and has a cafeteria feel to it, but the views out of the big windows are lovely. The food is what you’d expect in a place far from the shops where they have no idea how many people will be staying each night. Very basic. You might expect that when you’re the only place open for kilometres and kilometres and in such a lovely setting, that you’d be able to offer passing travellers a warm welcome and a lovely coffee and a piece of cake or something delicious - but no! On the positive side, the drive up to the hotel is absolutely stunning, the hotel is very clean, the beds are comfortable, and the small lake below the hotel is great to walk around (when it’s not too windy) to see the flamingos, avocets, sandpipers and many other birds. As I said, it’s worth the experience for a night, just make sure you have low expectations and plenty of warm clothes with you

So how to explain a hotel that was built in the middle of nowhere for no apparent (to me) reason, because it is literally in the middle of nowhere. I understand the development was government funded, but again the logistics of why anyone would stay there defy me. We were there on business for a potential project, but not one of many in this undeveloped zone of the world. We suspect hikers or people on their way to Chile may from time to time use this. Certainly when we were there we were the only people. So aside from that - the good news is the hotel is livable. By regular standards if we were not in the middle of nowhere we would consider this to be a motel at best. The place tries its best, but it is so remote it is tough. Hot water comes on only after 6ish PM, there is not really anything to do at night, and the food is prepped by the people who run it - do not think I saw an actual menu, but maybe there was one, but we had a set menu since we were a organized group. Wifi - it DOES exist - but quality is very very poor, and goes in and out. So good enough for an emergency, but certainly not for remote working or surfing. Biggest aspect to get used to - and this is nothing to do with the hotel - is the altitude. Even at these altitude levels (gets much higher quickly the further in you go), you can definitely feel it. So be prepared for headaches and possible nausea.

Well, let start with the positive points: the hotel is on 3200 meters altitude and you have great vistas all around. We arrived around 16.00 hours and sat inside and outside the hotel for hours admiring the ever changing colors, taking pictures and having a drink. We also used this stop to get used to the altitude. The hotel itself is BIG and empty. Not only were there only four guests but everything was empty. It looked liked everything was taken out of the hotel except the chairs, tables and beds. Our bedroom is the one from the picture of the hotel and it looked oke and the bed and bedlinen were a good quality. But all the windows were taped shut so we cut those with a knife to get so fresh aire. We only had one bedsite lamp without a bulb. So my partner went out to search for a bulb and found out that in one of the wings all the bedrooms were more or less demolished. It started to feel creepy....especially when at night someone was laughing in the corridor like a loony...... The doors didn't have keys so we made a nice boobytrap for the door, just in case..... The staff is an other story. They were friendly but we had the feeling they were living there as a family (including a baby), doing their own thing at their own time. And we, the guests, were no more then a (unwelcome?) break in their routine. At 18.00 they started a generator for their own television in the kitchen but nothing for us in the rest of the hotel. Well, we could hear the tv very good because their living room was the kitchen next to the restaurant/lounge area. And we had to wait until 19.30 to get power. The reviewer who was in this hotel in July mentioned wifi. Well, there was no wifi, according to the staff. The diner was oke and breakfast was poor. All in all, it was too expensive for the for, the service and the accommodation. But still, it was a nice stop on our way to the pass and not a everyday experience.
