I have never written a review and I never wanted to add a negative one but i really thought i owed it to travellers not to be let down like we were. The food and accommodation was so basic, which is a massive understatement and the people and atmosphere is so flat, it was embarrassing. The only good thing going... More

Sad but completely false. Lets start with basic food. We had a dozen Guests that week, 4 who would only eat fish, that was caught daily from our front yard and all stayed a full week and not one complaint. As I recall you had Dinner the first night and never stayed here the second night. So I find it hard... More

We slept in open-sided beach fales, under bright stars and mosquito nets, simple food, great snorkelling and the surfers were busy all day on the wave immediately out front. Very basic, not for you if you wanted a full service hotel, but a great surf camp, hot water in the shared showers, cold water in the private bathrooms, take your... More

Friendly, helpful staff; very beautiful and peaceful location beside a nature reserve; lovely beach; and decent food. Much more expensive than other accommodation with the same qualities which we stayed at on Upolu and Savai'i. We found the snorkelling good but the current was quite strong at high tide and the water too shallow at low tide (unless you swam... More

Just as we all thought it would be. A simple holiday just like camping but with fales in a spectacular setting. Food was basic and nice served with a smile. Snorkeling out front is a must. I recommend this place to anyone. Not many places left like this in the world. From Psillakis Surfboards

our stay started with us not being picked up on the ferry terminal as arranged via the booking office. we took a taxi, which we were reimbursed for at least. on arrival the host themselves clearly had no idea that we were supposed to arrive and had to get a fale ready on short notice which they did but with... Thankyou for your delayed review and I must say I am completely bewildered about your issues considering I talked with you daily during your 7 day stay, and even suggested you could move to another Fale if you were unhappy. We welcome Guests suggestions to always improve our service, and only wish you had mentioned all this while you were here. However... More

Beautiful place, very friendly staff made us feel welcome! I definatly would go back there! Great experience all round! The waterfall up the road is absolutely gorgeous, we drove around the whole island checking out all of the surf spots and this was by far the best spot! I personally wasn't there to surf but the people I went with... More

Just got back from 7 nights at Aganoa Beach Retreat, we were concerned before we left with some of the negative reviews, but now I have to ask did those people go to a different place? We were lucky that a swell arrived the day we did so we had great surf from the start. Keith & Lee put us... More

I was not going to write a review of Aganoa because I wanted it to stay they amazing, quiet secret little locaion that it is. Yet after reading the shocking reviews by some very misguided people I felt I should share my experiences. Firstly people visiting Samoa need to understand the concept of island time, nothing is ever rushed, things... More

PROS: Top spot, the best in Samoa that we stayed. The twins were gorgeous, their customer service was spot on - attentive, nice vibe but not too intrusive CONS: Possibly too much family involement - the girl from NZ needs to be removed from this business - she is doing it NO favours whatsoever. The bar was never manned and... More
