The El Portal is not just for any type of traveler. This Inn is for those people that appreciate fine detail and mezmorizing settings. Upon arrival it is like walking back in time ... but not in an old sort of broken down way, but to a time not so far past ... where a traveler could dust off his... more

We travel more than we like and get more than our share of surprises. El Portal was one of the good ones. It's like being in a nice, warm home, only with better food. I couldn't recommend it more highly more

My husband, eight-year-old son and I stayed at El Portal in the late summer. From beginning to end, we had a wonderful stay, replete with unique, wonderfully appointed rooms, great sight-seeing tips from the inn owner/keeper, and delicious food. The owner of the facility, Steve, is extremely welcoming and outgoing, offering a plethora of information about the region and sharing... more

The boutique hotel offers a rare experience. I cannot say enough about the owners and staff. I truly love my annual visits to one of the best inns in the country. The rooms are decorated with authentic arts and crafts antiques, the breakfast is exquisite and everything is done to perfection. more

we arrived in Sedona in the dark, and the wind was cold and howling, which made walking in town unbearable (let alone to dinner). but we had reserved the Juniper Room, and were we glad we did! it was a very good size room, high wood beamed ceilings, huge bed, great bathroom. and a wonderful fireplace. great hideaway on a... more

I was recently in Sedona, Arizona and spent a week at El Portal. This was a truly unique experience, and now that I have experienced El Portal, I couldn't emagine staying anywhere else. The hacienda itself is relatively small and private, with only about 12 rooms. This adds to fhe feeling that you are one of a very few, very... more

El Portal is a gem! This is our second trip to this extraordinary inn. It feels like you are a guest in someone's home. There are 12 unique rooms in a cozy setting. On our first trip in Oct. 2008, we stayed in the Governor's Suite for 5 nights. That room is beautiful with period furniture and very large. On... more

We stayed here for a few days prior to our wedding in Sedona. It was a great place for our friends and family to spend time with us in the courtyard and restaurant. It was convenient to the shopping area. The room was amazing and was roomy enough for our friends to visit us for our pre-wedding festivities. Great place... more
