Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje enjoys a reputation for a lively atmosphere, brimming with music and entertainment, although a few guests find it overly loud or repetitive. The service at the hotel earns commendation for its warmth and efficiency. While the amenities, including diverse pools and dining options, are generally well-received, some visitors suggest improvements. Mixed views surface regarding value, with some guests questioning the extra costs and the rush for sunbeds. Rooms are noted to be clean but could benefit from modernization. The secluded location is a haven for many, yet some find it a tad isolated. Cleanliness throughout the hotel is consistently lauded.

Excellent value for a fly and flop sunshine holiday with excellent all inclusive food options and drinks with an excellent pool complex - the only negative feedback is some of the options from being a Black Bahia member granted after 10 plus stays re additional benefits (eg automatic late check out and restaurant booking priority is limited) The hotel staff are excellent - overall we would recommend this 4star complex to the 50 plus age range and young family groups

Hotel's Favourite
As a married couple in our 40s we have been to tenerife a few times and always enjoyed it. We have also been to quite a lot of different hotels in various countries over the years ranging from 4 to 5 stars and I can honestly say this is the first hotel I would happily return to. Im not saying all other hotels we visited were bad, but they always felt like they let us down in one way or another.

Bahia Principe Adeje is an Excellent Hotel!! It might not be as luxurious as some 5 star hotels but they make up for it in so many ways and I’ll try to explain and be as honest as I can throughout my review.

Before visiting the hotel I read some negative reviews on here and was a little worried as we have learnt in the past, some of the negative reviews can point out some very valid issues and were not neive enough to think any hotel is perfect.

We had read the hotel was very remote and was fearful we would get bored of the complex or bored of the food and want to travel out. Although we did 2 excursions (Siam Park and Loro Parque) I can confirm for a couple staying for 8 days we never got bored of the food nor the hotel.

The Hotel: The hotel is for the most part is immaculate and beautiful. Its quite a large complex with the Adele hotel being near the beach front, a middle section near the lobby basically being like a cool little town where there are acts and a few little shops (all the owners of every single shop and even the chemist are lovely!!) and then there is the sister hotel Bahia Principe Tenerife which your allowed access to everything (except use of their main all inc diner) as well which is a really nice touch and wish wed had time to utilise more. 10/10

The Room: We stayed at the main Hotel Principe Adeje in room 4409 which was right in the middle and had a nice view of the pool right where the entertainment was and unlike some hotels it was nice to listen to. The entertainment team are brilliant and the music they play is nice and varied, not cliche and repetitive like some hotels you goto. The room was a little dated, but at the same far better than 90% of any 4 star hotels we’ve been to. It was very clean, everything worked and even had a queen size bed which was a really nice touch. Me and my wife have a super kingsize bed at home and find there is nothing worse than getting to a hotel to find a double or worse 2 singles pushed together. The cleaners were very good, often doing the room the exact time we went for breakfast so no awkward coming back to get changed or ready when our room was being cleaned and left a bottle of water every day. 9/10

The Staff: Im not kidding when I say I can not think of a single bad word to say about a single staff member and there is a LOT of staff there, the reception staff were always smiley and helpful, the women concierges are so welcoming, the staff attentive and so friendly and nice, the couple In the square snack bar amazing, the entertainment team and musicians some of the best we’ve ever seen, the lower beach bar snack bar staff amazing. 10/10

The Food: No matter who you are you have probably been to an all inclusive and found a good variety but after a few days you get bored? Well im quite a fussy eater and not only did I always find something to eat I was really surprised by both the flavour and quality of the food but the variety they offered from day to day. Everything you want for an English breakfast in the morning, good coffee and lots of choices with the luxury of getting to pick some free restaurants if you fancy it of which we did 2 out of 3 (both great) but honestly found we didn’t need to do a third the food was good enough. PS if any of the staff noticed my wife going and getting food for me for 3 days, it’s not because I’m lazy lol! I had pulled my right shoulder pretty badly near the end of the holiday and couldn’t move above my waist :( I can quite honestly it’s the best food I’ve ever had at an all inclusive 4 star restaurant by a mile. 10/10
Drinks & Bars: The bar staff at this place are all brilliant. Very smiley and friendly, if you’re watching the entertainment they are very attentive and keep in mind this place is pretty big so they have a lot of people to deal with but always plenty of staff on. They have coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Fanta lemon, lager, sangria and lots of other drinks on tap self service and often would leave varied bottles of spirits, lemon and ice out to make your own drinks (my favourite their own spiced rum) which was a really nice touch if a bar was getting busy. 10/10

The Music / Entertainment: One of the better things about this hotel is they often have multiple events going on. You have the square which has a large seating area and stage and we enjoyed an amazing queen tributes (literally had everyone on their feet getting into it). Then there is acts going on in the middle section outside the lower lobby. Some of them absolutely brilliant, very relaxing and a pleasure to listen to. One day they has some music an acts at the beach bar which was nice and then finally you have the music at the sister hotel so often between 2-3 options to choose from depending on your taste and mood. This for me made up for the fact the Hoel is quite far away from any real town etc. That being said there is a little town across the road near the Hard Rock Cafe which we visited has a supermarket etc and was nice to get out to. 10/10

It’s the little touches about this hotel that make it an amazing hotel and Id definitely return and highly recommend.

To all of the Bahia Principe Adeje team thank you so much for a really nice relaxing and pleasant 8 day holiday. You should be proud of yourselves! Your hard work is appreciated and I want to put a special thank you to the couple in the squares snack bar, the lobby staff and the amazing ladies at the diners and all the waiters. You all clearly work very hard and even manage to do it with a smile and want you to know it’s noticed and very much appreciated. We will be back :)

Would highly recommend this hotel!! The hotel was great, wish location was little better and closer to amenities within walking distance but hotel made up for it. Food and drink was lovely, rooms were spacious and cleaned daily and beds were comfortable. The animation team and kids club team were exceptional with my little boy. Big love to Erika!!

Went for a relaxing 5 nights away and booked here knowing it was quite a way out of Adeje with not much around it - we only planned on possibly going out one night to Adeje and opted for all inclusive AND paying another £180 to upgrade to all inclusive plus. I have stopped at Bahia Principe in Mexico a few years ago and was one of the reasons why I booked this one. The positives - the hotel is quite nice, good pool, its kept very clean and tidy and the staff are nice, polite and helpful, rooms are decent (although I wouldnt class them as 4*), again clean but possibly a little dated. This is where the good news stops as far as I am concerned! How people can say the food is excellent baffles me - I found myself saying I am just eating to fill myself up as the food in the main dining halls was just pretty bland and tasteless and more often than not nowhere near hot. Onto the speciality dining - booked into the steak reastaurant, a simple fillet steak isnt included, instead you can have 'steak'.....unsure what cut this is as it doesnt tell you, just steak! The surcharge isnt really a surcharge, I think it was 16 or 18 euros which if you travel into Adeje you can get a VERY nice meal in somewhere like Limoncello (fabulous restaurant btw) and a fillet only costs 18 euro - if I was being charged 18 euro in a Michelin recommended restaurant I could potentially take that but to be served transport cafe quality food and then to pay a very high supplement for a poorly cooked, poor quality, small fillet, it was a joke! My partner ordered salmon which was dry and not very warm, she said it was also very poor. Next night onto the Italian, I ordered the 'steak' which seemed very similar to what I had seen others eating in the steak restaurant, my partner ordered the salmon again thinking that with it being a different restaurant, this time being served with a pesto crust and cheese topping it would have a different outcome - to be fair the steak, although it had zero seasoning was cooked better than the fillet, potatoes and accompaniments were again cold, bland and tasteless (and left on the plate again as I refused to eat them). The pesto 'crust' came off the salmon like it was plasticine, it was shocking tbh and again was cold and dry. The starters were also terrible, I did ask about the stuffed mushrooms they were advertising and the chefs didnt even know what I was talking about like they had never done a mushroom starter! Onion rings with no actual onion, just cheap, stodgy onion flavoured rings and buffulo wings with no flavour. After that we gave up on the hotel food and just ate out! I did try a chicken sandwich from the pool bar, it arrived in about 30 seconds, I asked the lady who was working on the bar if she had made a mistake and given me a hamburger, she assured me twice it was chicken, after laughing and assuring her said meat surely hadnt clucked a day in its life her response I did find funny - 'its Bahia Principe chicken' and shrugged her shoulders with a wry smile. For research purposes only I did take a small bite of the substance masquerading as chicken and I can assure you it definitely didn't taste like any chicken I have ever experienced! Onto the drinks - pool bar uses reusable plastic tumblers so all that you taste or smell is old plastic. Having paid for inclusive plus for 'Premium drinks' instead of local ones I asked for a grey goose vodka and coke only to be told this was chargeable, they explained that 1st shelf was standard, middle shelf was premium and top shelf you still have to pay! Including the additional premium package it worked out at about £250/night which I expected more to be honest, overall very disappointed.

Our fourth stay at this lovely hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Food as previously was lovely with a good choice each day. Room was clean and comfortable. In fact the whole hotel is kept very clean inside and out. Although busier this time than on previous occasions, we were still able to relax and enjoy the sunshine. We also ate all meals outside which was most enjoyable. We will look forward to another visit in the future.

fantastic 10 days. Could not really fault it. Food great in all restaurants, staff great.Fully inclusive great choice of spirits, wine if thats your thing...No need to upgrade to the 'premium' drinks package. Staff always had a smile and simply no issues. Large hotel and walking down to the sister hotel was worth it as amazing pool overlooking the Atlantic. If you were being really picky shame no makings in your room to make a brew first thing in the morning... but every day a large bottle water placed in fridge,. Would we go again, a resounding yes !

What an amazing holiday. From entertainment (around the one pool out of 4 pools) with no pressure to join in Sara, Klevin and Marta were so energetic and friendly it made for a wonderful time. With Buffet restaurants and 4 very good additional restaurants Asia, Steak/Grill, Mexican and Italian the food was excellent. Out of our 10 nights we had 4 nights where we could choose those 4 restaurants with the Asia as my very favourite. Rooms were kept spotless but our bathroom in 4316 needed a bit of TLC. Bars were kept busy with good choice of drinks. Bruno being the main bar waiter so well done to him. We loved the ambiance of this Hotel so much that I’ve already booked for next year. Oh also the weather and scenery was amazing with plenty of walks if you want.

Visited this hotel after hearing colleagues speak highly of it for many years. I always found it pricy when children were small but had the opportunity to go as a couple and jumped at it. First of all it was over the festive period and was probably the most expensive holiday I have ever paid for in the Canaries for 10 days. My travel agent knows me very well and what I need, expect due to health and mobility problems and she checked they had a spa with jacuzzi and hairdressers that would be open over the festive period. I have severe osteoarthritis so booked a mobility scooter however it was like a maze having to use several different lifts to get down to the pool in a mobility scooter. The spa was a disappointment and did not have a jacuzzi that could be used by all. They had one treatment room for couples only with a very small jacuzzi for 2 and only if you were having the couples experience. They claim the jacuzzi in the pool is suffice but it does not read that way in the brochure. I had a male masseuse who could clearly see I can barely stand unaided or walk unaided. I had to take a shower naked with him watching in a veey small shower, no handles and very slippy. He did not cover my breasts with a towel and as someone who goes for massages nearly every day I do not think he was a qualified therapist as I did not feel any massage whatsoever it was as if he was frightened to touch me. I did ask him to massage harder but he didn’t understand or speak any English. My hairdressing appointment was cancelled as I was given wrong information that it was open over Christmas. I had not brought any hair items with me so was not happy at all. The food in main restaurant was awful and some days we struggled to find anything to eat. We ended up eating at the Indian restaurant situated on rhe hotel grounds which you paid for. It was reasonably priced and the food delicious so we tended to eat there. We tried to leave reviews on the hotel group run by a man called Angus Coombes. Every time someone left a negative comment he would turn nasty and remove the comment. When called out on this he blocks you so please beware of what you see as they do not allow negative comments. He is clearly getting benefits and cheap holidays in return for monitoring the website. Silly man on an ego trip as things will not change if people are prevented from speaking their truth and the hotel taking measures to address the issues. Hotel is overrated and overpriced do not waste your money the food was awful and they do nothing to assist if any problems arise they only hide the problems.
