An original honest Norfolk pub. I'm a bit reluctant to say how good this place is in case it gets attention of, and spoiled by, the Sunday Supplement, sterile environment, celebrity chefs and acolytes with pretty food drizzled on roof tiles. This is a proper pub, local ale, local cider, homemade food, usually with pies amongst large selection of proper... More

We have eaten here many years ago, and to be honest just forgot all about it, when driving up the north norfolk coast we have ended up at other pubs. Today was no exception we had a beautiful walk for a few hours and as 'The Victoria' at Holkham was closed for refurbishment decided we would drive back down to... More

We stayed in Warham for a few days and visited The Three Horse Shoes pub, it was lovely! So good to see a real pub serving real food and drinks, a log fire, the place takes you back in time. The staff were very friendly and really welcomed us and the dogs, they even have a doggie menu! There was... More

I always take the mother-in-law with my wife whenever we visit Wells. The service is always good in an un-spoilt pub but the range of foods is exceptional and the real highlight. This time I had rabbit casserole, game is a speciality here, and the half a rabbit went quite nicely with a pint of Whin Hill cider. Beers served... More

We read reviews which could have put us off but decided to give it a go. Arrived just after 6pm on cold damp evening. The place was almost empty but fire was very inviting. The decor has to be seen to be believed - it feels like you have stepped back in time. The menu is on blackboards above fire. Lots... More

We were staying in Warham and popped into The Three Horseshoes for dinner. And then went back the next night for more! The food wasn't gastro-pub fancy but it was tasty, plentiful and reasonably priced. All four dishes we ordered over the two nights were very enjoyable. There's a wide range of great drinks on offer. I particularly liked the... More

Very interesting to read the mixed bag of reviews but we can certainly concur that this once wonderful pub has gone downhill. We have been there several times over the years we have been coming to this lovely part of the world and were happy to put up with various eccentricities (no credit cards - although that has now changed... We arrived before opening time - 6:00pm - on a Saturday. All food home-made (we checked), so interesting and fresh, and we enjoyed it. An older ambience which may not suit all, but a variety of tables and rooms - and they were happy for us to bring in our dog. We were surprised that so many others came to... More

Firstly I must say that I always try to find positives in my reviews, but I can honestly say that there is not one thing I would recommend about this pub. The decor is like a time warp to a 1940's pub, and that's probably the last time it had a good clean! We ordered food because we were told... More

I have dined out across the UK, Europe and Scandinavia over the years but I still think my local takes some beating for atmosphere and flavour. It depends what people want; some 'upmarket' gastro-pub devoid of character or the real thing. Warham has close connections with Holkham Estate so the village is still lived in by locals instead of empty... More
