I stayed only for one night in this unique hotel-a fascinating mixture of Elizabethan and later architectural styles hidden away in a sleepy Sussex village. On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a larger room which comprised a bedroom connected by a corridor to a cosy sitting and TV room. Great for giving a feeling of space... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night in a spa suite in feb 2012. The new room was stunning, it was very large and open plan. The bathroom was beautiful, it had an enormous bath and a large walk in shower with lots of nice toiletries. The bed was huge and comfortable. There was a nespresso machine with... More

We went to the Ockenden Manor for our anniversary evening and from start to finish a fantastic experience. We were welcomed and all services explained to us and shown to a beautiful room, Hugh, we had our 2 children 4 and 7 with us and they were well catered for with games to play and offered basically anything they wanted... A lovely lunch (we stayed four hours) we choose from the excellent value two course daily lunch menu, interesting wines. The staff were professional the service was not obtrusive but quietly professional, enjoyed everything including the coffee and petit fours by the roaring log fire in the drawing room More

We went for a relaxing night away from the pre-Christmas stresses. On arrival we noticed that there was building work underway but were reassured that there would not be early morning noise as the work was internal. The room itself was charming but the bathroom tatty and dated. In the morning we were woken before 8 by many lorries and... More

We recently stayed at Ockenden Manor for the second time. This visit we stayed in a spa suite, a huge, modern and extremely comfortable room. The new spa facilities were beautiful, the indoor/outdoor pool was a highlight. It all made for an extremely relaxing Sunday afternoon/night getaway. Sunday night's meal in the Michelin starred restaurant was faultless. The food sounded... More

Drove up to beautiful hotel, walked in and told spa was further down the road . When eventually got to spa were shocked at the very modern square building which was totally out of character with surroundings. After paying over there hundred pounds for what we thought was going to be a lovely day it was just like visiting a... More

The Spa is set within the 19th Century walled garden past the Elizabethan hotel. The Spa’s contemporary design is intended to sit within the surroundings and reflect the setting. We are a little surprised to see it described as like a local gym. The facilities on offer in the Spa are and indoor and outdoor linked pools which are fed... More

Instead of Christmas presents, husband & I booked a second stay at Ockenden. What a joy!. The room was beautiful; 4 poster, candles, lovely furniture, splendid bathroom with lovely Templespa bath stuff. Then we hit the spa they built since our last stay. Heaven. It is beautiful with great steams room and sauna, a small pool that is in and... More

Ockenden Manor is a smallish, unpretentious country hotel with a new spa complex located in the grounds. The building itself is a charming mish mash of styles with wood panelling, old pictures, log fires and comfortable lounge/ bar areas where you can relax with a pot of tea, a glass of something before dinner in the restaurant or just chatting...
