We stayed in cottage Lenton which was warm, light, airy and comfortable. We were made very welcome by Elaine and her husband Paul. Made use of the 10% discount in the local pub which was handily within walking distance and also served first class food. Visited the very pretty village of Lacock and the Abbey. An excellent place to stay... More

My husband and I looked into a few accommodation options in and around Lacock and this seemed to be one of the cheapest for the quality. We've stayed in other B&Bs which were basically rooms in the owner's house, sharing breakfast with them in the morning. This was more like a top quality guest house with beautiful rooms all overlooking... More

Stayed for 2 nights with husband. Lovely accommodation. Elaine was most charming hostess and the breakfast was a delight. This house is picture perfect as is the surrounding area and countryside. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We stayed here for one night in April 2013. It's a beautiful and imposing house and the village is idyllic. But ... The rooms are cramped, not ensuite - a private bathroom across a corridor, a selection of chintzy photos hanging on the wall, not enough loo paper, a blood stain on the towel, a weird UKIP-esq note to Japanese... We were delighted to discover the Old Rectory while searching for a place in the Bath area, but not too crowded or sandwiched in rows of other buildings. This was perfect! A well-maintained property with wonderful hosts, 20+years as hosts here. Beds very comfortable, clean, and inviting. A stroll down the hill into Lacock was likely much as it would... More

From the outside it looks very nice. We arrived just after two and had a wedding to attend at four. On the door we found a note saying " check in between 5-7pm" Seriously?! In all my world travels in I've never come across anything like this. We managed to find a number in a cottage a friend was staying... More

We are very sorry this reviewer was so misinformed as there does seem to be a lack of communication. These guests had arranged (maybe it was a partner or the other couple they were with) to arrive between 12-1pm as they had a wedding. Unfortunately they missed this arrival time and then we had to go out. Luckily I returned... More

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. I was expecting a typical B&B full of rules and regulations but I couldn't have been more wrong. Elaine and her husband Paul were very welcoming to us and explained that we could have a 10% discount from the local pubs - handy for our evening meal. The rooms were immaculate,... More

The Building is lovely on the outside but inside be prepared for cob webs and mould. Are they so out of date that they have not yet discovered mould and mildew remover? If you are alergic to the mould spores do not stay at this hotel. It is rempant on the windows. The veggie breakfast is not the only dissapointment.... More

Stayed here for 1 night in October, the house is absolutly lovely with lots of original features all very impressive. What is not so impressive was the quality of our stay, you expect certain standards when staying away and in many aspects this B&B failed to live up to requirements. Check in time is restricive 5-7 pm, the towels in... More

As I discussed with the reviewer, we too were most distressed that another guest should defy both legislation and the 'no smoking' signs that we have and smoked in his room that night. In ten years this has happened extremely rarely. The small amount of mould in the ceiling due to the extreme weather conditions we have experienced recently has... More

I have wanted to give my kids the experience of staying in an old English cottage, and thought The Old Rectory just about fit the bill. I booked via internet and there was some mis-communication with regards to our arrival time. I have stated clearly that we would be arriving at noon, and Elaine the landlady said it would be... More
