We stayed one night in Ullapool whilst waiting for the ferry to Stornoway. The Argyll Hotel is very well located for the ferry terminal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere. Staff great to talk to. Mgr (or owner) attentive. Customers chatty too. Food good value; venison sausages, & venison casserole v tasty. Didn't stay there but had to score the rooms, so had to guess.

I am staying at the hotel and there was a problem with electrics which staff did everything they could to fix. You will not get better service or a friendlier welcome anywhere you may travel.
