Newly renovated, authentic posada in the old town of Angustura,. Next neighbourhood still lacks the restoration. Close to the refitted main square. Rooms clean but bit small. Breakfast is modest, but good stopover between Caracas and Canaima. Gives the Cuba feel with the flats and houses similar next to it.

Cute hotel in the older part of Cuidad Bolivar. It seemed like a renovated warehouse, decorated nicely with traditional furnitures, cute artifacts. Its situated in the older part of town amidst rows of colorful houses. Rooms are clean and well furnished, a bit small. If the restaurant in the hotel is closed then its a bit difficult to find a... Really lovely converted building. Looks like it might have been a former warehouse.Comfortable accommodation.Wonderful view of the Orinoco from the roof top. Good quiet air conditioner. Free Wifi in reception. Room safe. Food OK, but nothing special. A good choice for stopping off on the way to or from Canaima.

Ciudad Bolívar is a bit of a staging post between Caracas and La Gran Sabana, there really didn´t seem much to attract a visit in its own right. An awkward change of travel plans found us there against our will – see my Venezuela Trip Report. Previously known as Angostura (the Pisco Sour enhancing bitters were invented here) it sits... More

We stayed there for two nights before and after doing the Camaina tour to Salto Angel and really enjoyed it. The hotel is arranged in a rustic, colonial-style type and it is really nice to view the lobby, staying in the diner room or being in the rooms, enjoying the athmosphere. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although the rugs... More

My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon. We were taken/recommended the hotel by our local travel agent (Saipito Tours - Señor Bernal), who got us 'mates rates'. We spent just the night here (which for the decling city is probably enough these days). The staff who were the owners were really good with us. The whole hotel has... More

We spent one night at La Casa Grande and enjoyed our stay there. The posada is a beautiful old building located near the Malecon in Cuidad Bolivar. The rooms were a little bit dated, but very clean and the rooftop view of the Orinoco River is unbeatable. We thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and jacuzzi on the roof top. The... More

We really didn't have much time here - arriving late and sadly leaving early. IN that short time the staff were tremendous, very friendly. They showed us round the hotel which is rather nice, especially the surprising roof top terrace, pool and jacuzzi with 360° views of Ciudad Bolivar. Our only real grumble was the ground floor room - no... More

Hotel was fine. We only stayed for one night and just a few hours at that. The rooms are basic and we had no hot water which was a shame. They did however prepare an good dinner for us at very short notice.

We only had one nights stay here but it was just amazing and greatly needed after our trip to Angel Falls and our overnight in hammocks. The hotel looks standard from the outside but is just beautiful inside with lovely fountain features and decor. A large spiral stairs leads up to the pool area which has the most amazing views...
