A cool place sweet for picnics and weekend rest. They stock a variety of drinks, expensive though. the beach is covered with lots of hyacinth so fishing is not possible at the moment . They sell good fresh fish from the ponds.

After a looooong ride we arrived at the shores of Lake Victoria at the Kisumu Beach Resort. Although a little run down, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and offered us a cold beer in an instant. A well stocked bar, and fresh fish on the menu, this place makes the few guests it receives these days feel welcomed... More

having been here in their glory days when the rooms were fully function, compound well kept, friendly staff. It's current state is pathetic, website completely misleading and all recommendations from renowned travel guides are based on data from 12 years ago! The rooms are filthy, toilets unusably gross, unwelcoming staff, rude owners, gross unhygienic food service, broken down furniture essentially... More

From poor reception, lack of room service, confused guests and no uniformed room service staff. The place is a disappointment.I can't forget the security dogs which are late out in the evening and you can't even enjoy the only best thing in that place being a stroll under the palm trees. Truly the photos in the website are misleading and the... More

If you wish to enjoy the 'fragrance' of Kisumu City's open sewage traveling over the waters to your nostrils, be "greeted" by an arrogant son of the proprietor with an unwelcoming "smile", waking up 'refreshed' after a sleepless night (bedbugs and other bugs) and enjoying cold breakfast while falling backwards on a very cheap plastic chair than this is the... We book two nights at this "resort" after looking at their website, which is rather misleading. When we arrived there was no one around and we had to look for someone to check us in. Before we even approached the main building, the smell of toilets was overwhelming and there was trash strewn everywhere. Once we saw the rooms we... More

We went there for a team building visit and saw very nice pictures of the hotel from the hotel's website. We stayed in rooms 1,2,3,4 and 5. We were all very disappointed by the state of the rooms. The bedbugs, a clear health hazard, kept us up the whole night. We were eating in the same vicinity as the hotel's... More

I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Reasons: 1. NOT CLEAN - I dont think they even cleaned the "Bathroom" if that's what you even want to call it. There were stains all over the toilet seat, i didn't even want to use the shower it was so bad. I felt dirty sleeping in the bed, that i slept... More

The Kisumu Beach Resort is an undiscovered jewel. Tucked away at the shores of Lake Victoria away from the CBD is the quite and serene property with lot of potential to becoming a real holiday resort. There are lots of mature palm trees in all their splendor and in the evening, the hippos actually come ashore to graze. The breeze... More

the location is in a sort of industrial area of Kisumu, the gate is open at night, with no security excepts some dogs roaming freely. The chalets are is dilapidated state and the bathroom is awful with unsafe electric water heathers. The 'dining room' is further away and uninviting. Some staff is genuinely committed and helpful, but this is a... More
