We didn't go to Nyaru to see the animals. We went there for 3 nights to relax and on that basis it scores well. We had the large chalet nearest reception and although didn't use the upstairs we appreciated the kitchen, fridge and freezer which meant that we could chill up some wine and get some food from the Langeberg... We stayed for just 2 nights at this lovely place. The Chalets are cute, comfy and clean. The dining area and the main building warm and relaxing. The staff very friendly and helpful, could not do enough for you. We took an afternoon game drive and were rewarded with sights of plenty of animals. The best by far though, was seeing... More

Nyaru was a fantastic experience, a clean & well run family lodge, offering good accommodation in the spacious chalets with a warm heart beat at its centre, where breakfast and dinners were served, a bar and much much more. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, gently relaxing everyone over a cold beer or three. We stayed for 4 nights and... More

Stayed in Nyaru Game Lodge for 2 nights in feb 2013, and had a great time there. We arrived in the afternoon and were given the self catering house since the chalets were all booked. A nice and spotless chalet with lots of room and a small kitchen. We went on a Quad bike game drive with Ruan who did... More

We spent 2 nights here and loved the setting, hospitality and great chalets. We only had a short holiday in South Africa and did not have time to go to some of the big game parks. This was a good introduction and we enjoyed the quad biking and safari, but to be honest you do not need to do both. The... More

Jaco and I decided to spend our our one year anniversary together in a quiet place, where we could rest and truly connect, away from the rush of everyday life. That is what we found at Nyaru and more. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and squeeky clean and tidy and kept in pristine condition. The hospitality was beyond our expectation.... More

Wish we could have stayed longer than the 2 nights. Lovely African style chalet but with advatage of fridge, kettle etc.and plenty of crockery etc. if you wish to self cater, but we opted for the 3 course dinner at 165 Rand. You have to order before 5 p.m. to get a choice. We arrived later on the first night... More

We arrived here on a rainy day and were welcomed by Ruan who offered us a larger cabin to make us more comfortable. Loads of space to relax and a great private verandah where we enjoyed a bottle of wine or 2. The setting is amazing and during dinner at the main lodge we were called over to the terrace... More

We arrived at Nyaru for an overnight stay after a long journey and immediately wished we could have stayed longer. It is just such a beautiful, relaxing and authentic place to stay. We had already been on a Game Drive, so opted for the Sundowner Picnic. This did not disappoint us! The picnic spot, high above Nyaru Lodge had amazing views,... More

Spent two nights at Nyaru a few weeks ago and loved every minute. Elmarie and Chris are wonderful hosts and the chalets are beautiful, peaceful and well equipped. The 3 course dinners are substantial and very good value and the setting is beautiful. We would highly recommend a quad safari. How exhilarating! We couldn't stop grinning, in spite of my... More
