We were originally booked in to a different hotel for two nights, but changed after one night to spend our remaining time here. The location is the best thing about this hotel, shortly followed by the lovely infinity pool. Our room was big and bright, overlooking the lake and just a short walk from the main building that houses the... More

The public areas are beautiful but the rooms are three star at best. The bathrooms are very basic and hot water is quite limited. The restaurant is good and the staff is extremely gracious and helpful like almost everywhere else in Myanmar. We walked past the villas and they appeared to be updated.

It's a beautiful resort in a lovely setting. The swimming pool is gorgeous set against the green acreage and lovely river...but it was so hot when we were there, we rushed to our a/c room to cool down after amazing days of sightseeing. The rooms are clean, but basic. The restaurant is ok but nothing special, although we were less... More

I've stayed here twice now, once, eight years ago, and again last spring. Despite the raves about The Aureum Palace, I get the impression that this is THE place to stay in Bagan from speaking to both natives and well heeled tourists that I met throughout my trip. Though the Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary wouldn't be considered a luxury resort by international... More

It was extremely hot and humid outside so it was a welcome relief to have an air conditioner that worked well. Our tour guide and driver did not stay there so we had no vehicle at night. Upon check in, we were told that we got a 10-minute complimentary massage so I tried it. A lady gave us tea when... More

The location is incredible right in the middle of the temples - from there is so easy to grab a bike and explore the area. Though the swimming pool with beautiful views of the river was to tempting and we coudlnt resist spending lots of time relaxing there. The communal facilities are very nice and classy but our room was... More

We had only one night in Bagan, so this was a great location to lay one's head down, for sunset or post sunset drinks and relaxation. The pool at night was restful (albeit dark). Room and service were pleasant, within expectations and no surprises for Myanmar. In the morning, it is possible to walk/hike the kilometer or so to visit... More

The grounds and pool of this hotel are stunning - but as many have said the rooms need a bit of an update. This did not however spoil our experience - there was a balcony for chilling out on to each room - which as several have said are in groups of 4. Lovely views over the river - especially... More

The highlights for us at this hotel were the grounds and the very pleasant staff. I had a massage in the spa that was okay. Breakfast was average - nothing special, but, not nasty or anything, just, not inspired. Easy to get to everywhere you want to go from here though.

Web sites can be deceiving. The setting was first class and the gardens well cared for and beautiful but the rooms were tired and in need of a major refurbishment. Service was poor and intermittant - you got an early morning call when you hadn't ordered one and didn't get one when you had. The restaurant was average and therefore... More
