I have visited Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park on several occasions and this is one of my favourite two (or three!) places. It definitely has the best views in Buhoma. THE best. The roofs are high and light (banana fibre) which opens up the forest like you're watching the Discovery Channel from beside the open, cracking fire taking away the... More

i recently stayed at Engagi Lodge as part of my Uganda tour with Avian Watch. This tour company which specializes in birding selected the lodge because of the wonderful vantage point the deck offers. It overlooks a valley and has lots of areas for bird-watching, likely the best place in all of the area. The lodge itself is comfortable, has... More

Engagi lodge was my home for 2 nights. It was for several reasons a special stay. 1. it was my base for the gorilla trecking 2. during the two days i was the only guest in the lodge. The lodge is approx. 1 km away from the Visitors center where you get the briefing before starting the gorilla trecking. The... More

Even though I didn't stay at Engagi Lodge, I spent most afternoons birding from the verandah, which had beautiful views of the forest. I saw a variety of bird species, black-and-white colobus, and red-tailed monkey from the deck. The staff are friendly and very accommodating, evening calling my camp to confirm dinner potential dinner reservations. I would definitely stay here... More

Ok so the room was not as big as any other lodges I’ve stayed in Uganda, but it was nice and cozy. I think this was the only lodge that didn’t have mosquitos in the room itself because it was provided with floor to ceiling glass doors (obviously). I think what this lodge has going for them is the location... More

Gorgeous views with gorillas visiting if you are very lucky. Cold beer, great birds, they're all right here. Rooms lovely but be VERY careful on slippery stone path to the rooms. They even supply hot water bottles in bed and hiking poles for the gorilla trek. We stayed 3 nights, best of the whole 3 week trip. Food fine. Staff... More

We've spent 2 nights at the Engagi Lodge. It was a lovely experience. The Lodges are very well furnished. The menus were excellent and freshly prepared. A special thank goes to the great staff. They were very friendly and helpful. And, as it was pretty cold at night, we even got a warm bed bottle for the night. We've really... More

Yes, this place is so close to the Uganda Wild life Authority H/Qs; located a walkable distance outside the park head quarters. You can easily miss it coz the entrance is not that bright and just on the edge of the raod. The interesting thing with this facility is that it was carefully built without much interference with the natural... More

We stayed here in July 2011 for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The service was great throughout our entire stay. The food is also great - all the meat was very tender and everything had lots of flavour. The bar and dining area had a spectacular view over the valley. With the aid of binoculars it was possible to... More
