Having the crystal blue waters of the Messinian bay and the magical earth of Mani as its background, the hotel VARDIA literally hangs over the old city of Kardamyli. Being in perfect harmony with this enchanting environment and the simple architectural design of the surrounding area, the hotel has been built by the local masons and technicians with stone and wood as its main structural elements.Amidst green gardens and multi-colored flower blooms, stone-paved paths and balconies offering a magnificent view, the hotel welcomes its visitors in a serene and incomparably seductive environment, offering them rare hospitality, as well as a really pleasurable stay.
This beatiful hotel in the hills has all the charm and friendly staff a person can ask for. We loved the hospitality of the staff and cleaners and they helped us if we ever needed it. The view is amazing and it's in a quiet and tranquil area. A bit of a walk down the stairs to the old town, but nothing to fuss about. A bit harder on the way up again, but good exercise 😊 we absolutely loved the place, the tavernas, the bars (down by the beach), the stores and ATM down in the old town. We would gladly visit again ☺️ of you want a bit less tourist and more of a Greek experience this is the place and hotel to visit.

A wonderful place to stay, lovely views down over the town and to the sea for a shady terrace. Beautifully furnished with everything necessary provided. A shared garden behind the rooms to avoid the evening sun when it’s hot. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Do be aware that if you want to walk into town the hotel has provided a shortcut which is comprised of over 120 steps! So, hard work in the heat, for some of us anyway!

We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough! It occupies a perfect location above Kardamili, with fantastic views down to the remains of “Old Kardamili” and beyond, and all the way across the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Messenia. The rooms are spacious and cool, and there’s plenty of shaded seating areas around the building – but you’ll enjoy the views from your balcony the most. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Emma and the welcoming owner, and the breakfasts are as good as you might expect. We enjoyed the walk down into Kardamili every evening, where there are ample restaurants of quality to chose from. You’ll have a key for the gate, and there’s a torch in the room since the walk up through the woods is not lit in places. We’re hoping to return to Kardamili for the Jazz Festival next May, and will book in to The Vardia Hotel without hesitation.…

I could not fault one thing about Hotel Vardia. The service is incredible - we were made to feel like family the moment we walked through the doors. All of our needs were catered to & they went above & beyond to make sure we were happy. If you are going to Kardamyli then you don’t need to consider staying anywhere else. On top of the incredible service the rooms are perfect, with all necessary amenities & incredible views of the Mediterranean. The cute dog & several cats who love a cuddle only made our experience that much more magical. Thank you for everything & hope to see you again one day.

Staying at this hotel is a great experience. The view is outstanding capturing simultanously the sea, the sunset, the old town of Kardamili and the wonderful hotel garden. The cleanliness was excellent making us confident that all measures against COVID-19 were properly taken. The Village is accessible on feet through stairs, a trail and an alley. The trail part, about 30 meters requires some caution at night.

The position of the hotel is magnificent, nestling high up into a hill, next to a gorge and overlooking the charming village and sea with its sunsets. The gardens are beautiful and there are plenty of lovely spots with comfortable chairs and tables to sit and read, tan, have sundowners and look at the view. A pleasant walk of about fifteen minutes to town and the nearest beach. The staff are always cheerful, helpful and efficient and keep the hotel rooms spick and span as they service it daily. A delicious buffet breakfast is served daily on a lovely patio with a roof over it, overlooking the ocean. The rooms are simply decorated, with a most comfortable bed, private patio and kitchenette. Feels just like one's own home. Always quiet too!

This place is sooooo beautiful and the hotel grounds feel like you’re in the garden of Eden. It is perfectly situated on a gorgeous rock above town with a very short 5 minute walk. Voula and her staff are kind, friendly and downright fun. The rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and the breakfast was delicious.

Our second visit to the Vardia and just as beautiful as we remembered. A warm welcome from the owner and staff and delicious breakfasts on the terrace with a wide range of local foods. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with a large terrace facing the sea. Thank you for an amazing stay.
