This hotel is incredible - the staff are wonderful, the common areas are lovely, and the location is so central. There are lots of types of relaxing locations - sun deck at top of hotel, loungers by the pool, central sitting area, library reading room. It choice is great for finding the perfect location.

Hotel's Favourite
We spent three nights in this beautiful hotel. The location is perfect and the staff are all so warm, friendly, and helpful. Our room was huge, well decorated, and very comfortable. There are lovely public areas for enjoying a glass of wine and the ambiance. Breakfast was good and we had a very nice dinner by the pool on our last evening there. Highly recommend this hotel if you’re in the area.

Really lovely hotel with charming staff. Delicious breakfast and very conveniently situated in the middle of the village. Swimming pool quite small but warm. We had the room with stairs to both bed and bathroom, which we probably wouldn't choose again but would certainly return to the hotel.

We booked for a week at the end Sept/ beg October and had a perfect stay. With around 20 rooms, the friendly and informative staff made sure that we were looked after from the moment we arrived. With our plane arriving late we did not get to the hotel till after 9 but the hotel ensured we could still get a meal. The hotel is beautifully furnished, features a large open atrium and the meals are served around the swimming pool in a beautiful courtyard area. The rooms are spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. a. The hotel is located just a short walk from the rock pools and the sea front and also close to the main town square and the various shops, restaurants and cafes Garachico has to offer. The hotel is peaceful, features a small library room and drinks and refreshments can be provided in the public areas. And room service is available too. You can even enjoy a drink on the rooftop terrace with views of the town and mountains. What makes the hotel special is the service. We were always greeted with a smile by the reception team, given information on how and where to get tourist bus passes and places/beaches to visit in the area and all the staff ensured we were well looked after. My wife has specific dietary requirements – gluten free and vegan – and we contacted the hotel in advance to confirm they could cater for this, Every evening she was provided with surprise starters and main courses, the the staff always taking care to check her food preferences. All the food was delightful – nouvelle cuisine style - and plenty of choice for breakfast too. Our special thanks to the chefs and serving staff who went out of their way to meet her dietary needs. The hotel San Roque provides a totally different experience to the huge and impersonal tourist hotels in the south of the island and you are never far away from the dramatic mountainous backdrop and the rocky northern coastline. We will return and would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for pleasant surroundings, helpful and friendly service and excellent staff in a small hotel in a beautiful town with lots of history and interesting buildings and, of course, the wonderful rock pools.

A small boutique hotel with around 13 rooms. Standards of service are high and the place is spotless. A new chef recently installed - and it showed. Food is excellent. We only eat dinner out once during our weeks stay. An old house converted to a small hotel. Placed just off a cobbled street which is parallel to the coastal road but one block behind. Its quiet and well situated in this picturesque town. The drawbacks are all to do with size! As the facilities are all enclosed within the Hotel's footprint - sun bathing area (next to the small salt water pool and on top of the flat roof) are small. A fine but limited view of the atlantic sea are to be had from the roof area. There is a tower higher up from the roof with a single bedroom/bathroom. Our room (103) was quite large but, apart from the entrance door, lacked a window - resulting in a 'cell experience'... The owner/manager is obviously fastidious/proud of both the hotel and its standards. Menus for dinner reasonably extensive but set...Breakfasts, although good, would improve with a cafetiere instead of machine produced coffee and a variety of fruit available of a daily basis would better the experience. Altogether, we had a lovely time. A great small hotel.

Beautiful and serene, this is most quiet & comfortable place to stay if you wish for rest and relaxation. All the staff are polite and most helpful, and will go out of their way to be sort out any problems. It is centrally based, close to other restaurants and the beach. Only two little niggles, first choose your room wisely. Our room was tiny, with just a couple of windows overlooking the central courtyard. It had 2 separate staircases, one to the bed and other to the bathroom. A bit annoying, I felt unsafe if I had to use the bathroom in the dark of the middle of the night. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful, except that I did not like queuing at the coffee machine every machine whilst it was being replenished or repaired. This was very disappointing especially if you were in a room with no kettle. I seemed to be up and down all the time

Our experience at the San Roque was excellent, from initial communication to check in and during our stay. As soon as you enter you are in a haven of calm, peace and relaxation. The courtyard provides a serene place to sit back and enjoy a drink (the coffee is recommended). Service is summoned at the press of a button, so easy. There are lots of areas to find a quiet place to sit in shady areas or there is a roof top sun deck or a the heated pool with loungers. Our room was the base standard double but was spacious, well fitted with a very comfy bed and high quality linens. I would have expected complimentary water rather than mini bar pricing though. A minor criticism. We hope to return for a longer stay.

Friends of ours had visited 4 times before lockdown so the hotel was highly recommended. The service is excellent at every level. All staff are friendly and efficient. They booked us a hire car for two day a week before, restaurant bookings and could have arranged tours or taxi trips to Teide. On our last day our pick up did not arrive so the receptionist sorted their regular taxi to take us to the airport. We liked the call system available at all tables to ask for drinks. The lounge is very comfortable and the Atrium bright. The heated pool is cold but you can quickly warm up. You can laze on a sun lounger. Breakfast is cereal, bread, pastries, meats and cheeses with eggs cooked to order. The evening meal we found a little basic and as the menu didn't change during our five ought stay we didn't return. We chose a duplex and it was gloomy, especially so on the last morning when there was astride but they gave us a torch! The rooms were very dark and going down the stairs, if you need to, needs care. The bathroom is modern with a powerful, in bath shower. There is a stool provided to use to step in. Towels changed every day, pool towels every other day. Plenty of hooks. Hairdryer on bathroom and full length mirror on the back of one of the wardrobe doors. Downside: lack of plugs and no tea and coffee making facilities.

We stayed 4 nights in this delightful hotel, beautifully converted from an old house around two internal courtyards, one of which contains the pool. Very quiet and comfortable and, the staff were charming and helpful. Choose your room carefully - we had a duplex suite which we loved but, with its tight spiral staircase, may not suit an infirm person and nb some of the rooms face inwards to the courtyard. Only a moment from the attractive town square and easy free parking across the street. Lovely breakfast. We ate dinner by the pool one night which was fine but there are other very good restaurants within five minutes walk. Recommended,

A true boutique hotel, in a restored 'colonial' building with two galleried courtyards, one of which has the reasonably sized and heated pool. Many different areas to sit, in the courtyard , on the galleries, around the pool, and on a sun terrace at the top. A brilliant system of WiFi call buttons mean you can order drinks etc wherever you are. The duplex room was comfortable, but there was a steep spiral staircase to the upstairs bedroom (bathroom on ground floor) and as others have commented only a skylight and frosted half window/floor light. Some of the rooms come straight off the galleries so not all that private. Charming staff, excellent breakfast around the pool, which is where the restaurant is also located. Literally 3 min utes amble to the main square and surrounding bars and restaurants. We loved it. (parking a couple of minutes away in the huge and free Futbol Car Park)
