Rooms need updating; two star quality. The pillows were flat and like sandbags. The room smelled so bad we had to buy air fresheners. Breakfast was OK. The best thing going for this place was the location to downtown Carmel; park right across the street. More

This Inn is my absolute favorite place to stay in California. The location is amazing, the breakfast is tasty and satisfactory and the rooms are always clean. I stay here whenever I am in town and can afford it and have never regreted it. The bed alone is worth the price as it is like sleeping on a cloud. They... More

We stayed in the heart of downtown Carmel for a winter getaway. The rooms were pretty basic motel style rooms with a hefty price tag. All I can say is that we paid for the location location location! Everything was walkable and super close. Check out cafe demetra for a romantic n fun dinner. Also checked out a burger joint... More

I stayed here for 4 nights with my mum in November. The room was fine and the location was perfect. The breakfast was ok for one night but became very boring after that. There was no variation. It was the same bland food each morning. We checked in after a huge day travelling on the amtrak. The person who checked... More

This little gem is perfect for the price and the location is excellent. We stayed 2 nights on our trip up the coast to San Fran. Recommend it. More

There isn't enough parking. We had to park on the street, two out of the three nights we stayed. Also they don't have Fox news, I enjoy staying current with the news, and all they had was CNN and MSNBC, neither which I will watch. The bathrooms are out of date, but if staying just one or two days it... More

This place is just ok in terms of rooms & service, but it does have a good location and is convenient for a number of reasons. First, pros: Good location - within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, the beach. Convenient - food market and wine shop just across the street from the back door; gas station nearby; entrance to Highway... More

This place is located at the edge of the boutique, gallery, restaurant hub which makes Carmel such an attractive place to visit. The Village Inn rooms are clean and comfy and the kingside bed is divine. We needed a couple of wine glasses and this was not a problem from reception.Breakfast was okay and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. More

My wife and I stayed here for one night during our car trip from San Francisco to LA. This hotel had the best value for one night, and was one of the very few that accepted a one night only reservation for a weekend (most Carmel hotels demand a two night stay minimum). We had a room on the upper... More

In October my wife and I drove up the Cabrillo highway from Los Angeles. This was a bit of a strenuous trip for us and we were seeking a good rest in Carmel. We checked in at the Carmel Village Inn and got a very comfortable standard king bed room. From the time we entered until we left the experience... More
