On a family medical trip to Oakland Children's Hospital, we scrubbed the internet for a nice mid to high-grade hotel in which to stay as a treat for our son going in for surgery. The hospital directed us to stay in Emeryville, not Oakland, so that shrunk the options. I must admit, I read several reviews of the site and... More

The Hyatt house in Emeryville, CA is a great place to stay on a visit to the Bay area. It is very near to Berkeley and Oakland and near highways to get you to San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Napa and Sonoma. The hotel has a plentiful breakfast buffet, a nice outdoor pool, and an exercise room. Many rooms are... More

Pros: free breakfast, free wi-fi, free parking, full kitchen, close to shopping and dinners Cons: next to a train station we stayed 2 nights here. check-in was smooth and service was good. Only problem I had was that freaking train passed by around 2 am and woke me up. The wall seems to be thin because I could hear footsteps... More

We picked this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. One can walk to the station, which is across the tracks from the hotel, by taking an elevator or walking one flight up to a sidewalk that goes over the tracks. We used the shuttle rather than lug the luggage. We had a very good dinner in the... More

My room was on the Amtrak station side of the building and whilst there was rail noise during the day and evening my sleep was not interrupted. This is a fairly new building and my room was a good size, clean and comfortable with balcony and opening windows. The bed provided a very restful sleep. The breakfast buffet was varied... More

Having two kid study at the university next door, I have stayed in this property since it was known as Woodfin Suites. My latest stay was May this year for my daughter's graduation. I was hoping Hyatt would spend some money to renovate it but so far nothing much has changed save for the logos. PROS : 1.) If its... More

Stayed here a couple of times with rooms facing the bay and was pleased during each of our stays. Beautiful, sunny outlook to the Bay Bridge and SF. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room rate included a full breakfast buffet, which wasn't the best taste wise, but still, better than not having any. The rooms were clean and... More

We stayed for 3 nights and attended the Cal graduation. Just about a 10 minute drive to campus and it was out of the congestion of Berkeley. Hotel room was perfect with the sitting room and little kitchen. The bar was great and the bartender Jacob is the greatest. We would stay again.

We had the privilege of staying here Mother's Day weekend before heading into the City for a day of museums and shopping. I normally stay at higher end Hyatts but decided to go with this one based n the incredible value we were getting (almost in San Francisco at a fraction of the cost). We didn't have a whole ton... Truly delighted with this hotel - excellent, helpful staff, large, comfortable rooms. If any complaint, it's the size of the breakfast area -- the buffet breakfast was so popular with visitors, it was simply packed each morning. It was difficult to find a seat.
