Don't stay anywhere else in the area, it's perfect. Modern comfortable rooms, spectacular location in the desert but very close to town amenities (drive not a walk), chilled out special place. We absolutely loved it, totally different to anywhere else I've stayed but really charming and suits a stay in a desert national park perfectly. We opted for a room... More

Desert hideaway indeed! The rooms are decorated with style and vibrant colors, well-appointed with everything we needed. The grounds are alive with birds, flowers, and art, and the location is sheltered and peaceful, despite the proximity of the main road. We'll be back!

I had booked room 4 several months in advance because I wanted to make sure we had a soaking tub and kitchen in the room. I even shifted the dates of our visit by a week to make sure we got this room. 2 days before our arrival, we were told we were 'upgraded' to room 1, without any choice... More

I truly am sorry that this guest was disappointed with her room upgrade. If I had known that this particular guest had wanted her original room because of the tub I would have handled things differently. We do not make a practice of moving our guests from the room that they choose, but I was in the difficult situation of... More

Very accommodating to our needs--we had our infant son with us and stayed in #4, which is a free-standing bungalow (so there are no adjacent units to be disturbed by a crying baby). They supplied a Pack-n-Play for the baby to sleep in. And we had the private patio space, where we could feed him and so forth. We went... More

Lovely, private, quiet - just what we were hoping for. We were sorry to leave. The stars were spectacular and Joshua Tree is of course lovely beyond words. So nice to spend the day hiking and come back to this retreat.

My family and I had the most incredible weekend at Spin and Margie's Desert Hideaway. The property is an artists dream, and it backs up right to the back entrance of Joshua Tree. It's off the beaten path and so incredibly peaceful -- no one wanted to leave. The room is so clean, cute, open and comfortable. Anything you would... More

I found Spin and margies on tripadvisor, and hoped that all the positive reviews were right; and they were right on!! We stayed at the desert hideway for 8 nights, and found the setting, the room, the outside space and the owners equally delightful. We stayed in #4, a large room, with a kitchen and a GREAT bathroom, and private outside... The adventure of finding the place (not difficult, but not "Exit Whatever" off the interstate either) adds to the discovery experience. And what a discovery. I felt like desert sojourners of yesteryear might have felt when they came a cross an oasis (without, of course, any attendant "despair"!!!). The look of the compound as you drive in immediately says "unique... More

clean and open. full of all that your would need to cook. you can be warm or cool. the parking is close. it is a bit hard to find the sandy road but well worth it. great cable. outdoor spaces to sit. it has only 5 places so it is quiet and full of lovely folks.

I stayed in Room 5 which i believe is the newest one? It was modern and really comfortable, down to the details like nice soap, bathsalts, local photos on the wall, hilarious guestbook, note pad and pens... i like all these little things as they make the difference. One suggestion, i found it quite hard to find the little road/driveway.... More
