We actually stayed here in October 2010. First off, it is a bit difficult to find. The numbers on the streets in that section of Mendocino make no sense whatsoever. We ended up calling the B&B and the woman in charge that day stood in the middle of the street and hailed us down. We were taken to the Port... More

Every time my wife and I go to Mendocino, we stay in the Osprey Room at the JD House. You get an amazing view from an amazing and very comfortable room!! The staff there are very helpful. Breakfast is always great, and they use local produce. I think we have stayed there four times. We have never been disappointed. We... More

This was our second time staying in the Port room at the JD House. We enjoyed our first trip and felt that it was a good place to visit again. We were not disappointed. We love going to Mendocino and relaxing. That is exactly what we did. Next time we will plan further in advance and get one of the... More

My husband and I perused many a website of Mendocino accomodations in anticipation of our upcoming weekend getaway. Most seemed high priced, too frilly or too far from the center of town. We came upon the JD House, but being late in the game, the only room available was the Water Tower room, which also happens to be the cheapest.... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights in the Osprey room, Rhonda made us feel right at home the minute we got there and the accommodations were very quaint and clean, the view from the room was spectacular, you can see the village and the ocean. They prepare breakfast in the morning and it was very good, homemade... More

We stayed here for two nights over our honeymoon and were in Kits Cabin. We found the room really charming. We also really enjoyed the breakfast served -- probably the best warm scones and jam we've ever had. We organized a wine tour through our reservation and had no troubles. The tour was probably the highlight of our trip! Since... More

A quick first visit to Mendocino has me hungry for more. I loved our room - the one out back facing the water (was it called Raven?). Everything was exquisite - the bed was the best we slept in during our entire trip. The room was clean and refreshing, and it felt comfortable. I loved the outdoor deck facing the... More

Nothing bad to say at all!! We stayed in Kit's Cabin. It was just so cute as well as feeling luxurious. The room and bathroom were spotless, staff were incredibly friendly and breakfast was delicious. Great location and lovely town. So pleased we chose JD House and thanks to the owners and staff who made our stay so memorable. More

lovely room with whirlpool bath and luxury toiletries, just what we needed after two hard days of driving. Lots of advice about the area, restaurants, wildlife. We were woken by the bin men at 6.15 am on our first morning, which allowed us to experience a Mendocino sunrise and walk out on the headlands to see the mist roll down... More
