Strange place. Looks like it was quite the motel, upscale in its day. Had a lounge and spa rooms at one time. Rooms were clean, quiet. Very good value at $50 nite. I stayed for one night with a friend. The hotel is handy to explore the Monterey area. The room per se was good, but I was very disappointed by the terrible internet connection and most of all by the so-called 'breakfast', which was a table with some pre-packages sweet rolls and a vat of coffee. The hotel is clean, but definitely a little expensive for what you get. It is a mile or two outside downtown Monterey, so not really close enough to any of the attractions to justify a price that is not too dissimilar to hotels closer to downtown. My husband, myself and our teenage son were all very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, roomy, attractive, had plenty of hot water a large tub and shower, large t.v. with remote, microwave and fridge! Beds were a lttle hard but for the price we very pleased. Would stay there again! more
