I was there a couple of years ago but I believe my review is still relevant to today and I always want to give praise where praise is due. The rooms are excellent, concierge lounge is great, the food is wonderful and the staff very professional. More

They have nice conference facilities and it is beautiful and right off of the subway system (BART) so it is very convenient to travel to San Francisco. Rooms were very clean and the housekeeping staff were very exceptional! However, they have an outdoor pool that is not warm enough to ever get in it. There is no jucuzzi. They do... More

We always stay here when in Oakland. Our Christmas stay was just as great as all the others. The hotel was pretty empty (it is more of a business hotel) but the staff were warm and welcoming as always. Because of my poor planning we ended up having Christmas Eve dinner at the hotel. But, it turned out great. We... More

July 2011. I had the opportunity to stay at the Marriott City Center when business required us to be in the area. The hotel is located right in the epicenter of downtown Oakland, close to Kaiser Health HQ and Clorox HQ. Big plus is their B.A.R.T. train station across the street. With makes a quick trip into the city, vs.... More

Our company Holiday party was held at this Marriott. We were promised discount parking for using the parking garage. We all had a special sticker put on our parking tickets which was suppose to give us a discount. When we left 3 hours later we were charged full price! We tried to explain to the parking supervisor but he could... More

Rooms are adequate but expensive. Parking charges in the adjoining garage is outrageous. The hotel has been recently remodeled but still has an "industrial" look. Staff is very helpful and friendly which helps to offset some of the negatives. The windows don't open soothe rooms are often stuffy. More

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel at least a couple dozen times over the past ten years. We stay when visiting friends in the Bay Area and Vicki has a trade show there every fall. The hotel’s rates are pretty high, but we stay there because frequently we are able to get a room for about half... More

I have stayed at this Marriott a few times now for business travel. Each time, though, I have not been able to sleep well at this hotel. The beds and pillows seem to be of very good quality, so not sure if the walls are thin or if it's the sounds of staying in downtown Oakland (BART, city noise, nearby... More

It is so nice to hear you enjoyed the furnishings and toiletries during your business trip to the Oakland Marriott. Although it is not typical for the city sounds to disturb our guests, we definitely wish you were able to have a better night’s sleep while staying with us. Should you return to Oakland I would recommend a room on... More

It appears the renovation at this property is complete and it's looking better than ever. The rooms are all now the new Marriott standard, so nice new finishes, carpet, etc. Service from the front desk staff and valet staff also very good on my recent stay. The reason to stay here is the location, more than anything, though. You are... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights when visiting the San Francisco area for the first time. The hotel is literally across the street from the BART station, so it makes it very easy to get into San Francisco. The hotel is very nice. It is a large hotel that serves a lot of conferences, but we enjoyed... More

We greatly appreciate your excellent review! Yes, the BART system is extremely quick and convenient, with the City Center/12th street stop less than one block away from the hotel. Thank you for your kind words about our friendly staff, delicious breakfast buffet, and nice room. I noticed your name is “loves to travel” and we are glad you chose the... More
