This resort sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean, a truly amazing view. The pool, spa, and onsite restaurant are all excellent as well. Very good service and friendly staff. There are a few rough edges but it does get battered by the storms. I would definetely stay here again. more

11 Jan 2010 | Trip type: Friends getaway

I decided to get away for the weekend and stayed at the Cliffs with two friends. We had a double bedded room with a pool and ocean view. While the view was great from the room and balcony, just a short walk to the pool and bar area in front of the hotel offered a panoramic view of pismo beach... more

Thank you so much for the review! We are really proud of the upgrade we finished this summer, and this winter is a great time to take advantage of the quieter season, fantastic rates, the beautiful weather, and of course the view. Since you enjoyed the restaurant and happy hour, I definitely recommend checking out our website to see some...

This is our second visit to the Cliff's Resort, and we loved it both times. We took advantage of their 'Fifty is Nifty' deal, with discounts on room rates, restaurant (Marisol) and gift shop. For a beautiful hotel on the beach, it really is a great value. We enjoyed walking down to the beach and along the walking path, working... more

This hotel is not worth the money, it's not a resort. The ocean views are beautiful but that's it. My husband and I stayed there for one night and had a view of the parking lot that was exreamly loud. There was a big fight, yelling and girls screaming at their restaurant Marisol. We were woken up by women sreaming... more

I appreciate your feedback, Travelsites. I can definitely understand that noisy people and emergency vehicles can ruin a relaxing stay for you and your husband. Through the past year, we've spent some time trying to refocus our hotel and restaurant so that we're pulling in a more relaxed crowd for both outlets. Hopefully you can give us another chance, on...

We had a great stay and deal at the Cliffs Resort. Newly renovated and quiet. Pretty happening happy hour with a view and some complimentary food available. There is another resort beside the Cliffs and enjoyed their cliffside firepit as well. This was a very relaxing midweek trip. more

I am glad we could set you up for a nice quiet midweek trip! The hotel does do a lot of different happy hours and Monday through Thursday we get in a nice crowd that appreciates the atmosphere and the food specials. Next time you stay, after the sunset, ask the Front Desk to turn on our firepit for you......

I'd stayed here on a business trip and decided to bring the family on our way down to southern California. There were 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids under 12) and we were able to get a room the week before our stay. The room was smallish, but fine for our time in the room which had the common... more

It's always nice when someone who comes through on a business trip chooses to bring back their family! Five is definitely a squeeze in one room, but we have some connecting rooms so you can get a set up with a king bed (often including a pullout) connecting to two queens so you have room and a little more privacy....

We spent three nights here in an ocean view suite just after Christmas. Our room was spacious, comfortably furnished, immaculate and the view from the balcony was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the restaurant and found the staff to be very helpful. There are lots of wineries to visit, gorgeous beaches where one can go for long walks and Hearst Castle... more

This was definitely a great place to stay. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the view was amazing! The room I had was partial ocean/coastal view which was true to its word. Restaurants are also very convenient, about a mile down the road, and the wineries are close enough to avoid staying... more

Just returned from a weeklong meeting in San Luis Obispo and it was great. Our group stayed at The Cliffs Resort and loved it. The staff, food, location and views were all FANTASTIC! If you have an opportunity to visit the campus of Cal Poly University do it! We had an off-site dinner at Edna Valley Vineyard that was amazing.... more

My boyfriend and I booked a Thanksgiving weekend getaway here. For what you get and the overall, beat up apperance of the "resort", they should charge maybe $100 per night, but definitly not $200-$300 per night. First off, the "spa", is really just space by the basement gym that has tiny rooms all sqashed together. Do NOT expect a relaxing... more
