nice hotel, nice property, great hotel restaurant service good overall, but not as great overnight crew I would love this place if it were not so noisy. Friday nights, there is live music across the street in the park. Even with a "room facing the back" the windows are old and porous to noise, especially the loud amplified music coming... More

Another stay in the Citizen, this time with 42 rooms for my daughter's wedding. The Citizen has both good and bad, mostly good. Great location, and interesting political theme with decent service, if sometimes a little off base. The rooms are interesting, but small, with sort of a home made remodelling job. Lots of complaints about noise from the street,... More

The hotel was nice for a quick one night stopover on the way to the American River. The room was clean, big, and comfortable. The lobby is really cool as are the rest of the amenities. The valets were incredibly helpful especially because we had to make a few trips to the car to retrieve items for our rafting trip.... More

We live less than 20 miles away yet I booked the weekend for my husband's birthday weekend. The location is ideal for Friday Night Concerts in the Park, 2nd Saturday and walking distance from many other museums, convention center, theatre and things to keep us busy; The one-bedroom suite was a good size for a weekend but might be small... I hate to tell you about this place, I would love to keep it a secret. A classy hotel with down to earth friendly staff. Very clean, nicely decorated but user friendly. Join their club program and you get free wifi, wine or sparkling water waiting in the room. The restaurant down stairs is one of the best in Sacramento.... More

The hotel location is excellent, I like to run and the loop around the capital is a great place to do so, and it was an easy walk to the convention center. Room was very nice, but bath is small, tight - cruise ship like. Very clean rooms. Car valets were very good. The bar was very enjoyable as well.... More

This hotel is full of character and with the decor you really feel a sense of place. I always hear people complain that Sacramento is bland and devoid of interest. If you stay here you might think differently. The hotel's restaurant is great and there are number of restaurants, bars, and coffeehouses within close walking distance. I find myself looking... More

Great service all around from the valet when you arrive to the check-in and everyone else in fact. The rooms are very clean and the bedding is very comfortable. Centrally located in downtown Sacramento. Parking is $25 a day with unlimited ins and outs (just marginally more expensive if you self park but then you pay every time you leave).... More

I was fortunate to stay at this hotel on a business trip, and yes fortunate! What a hotel filled with history and charm, I felt like I was staying in a set decoration for the movie Clue or Sherlock Holmes would appear with pipe in hand. Exceptional service from ALL staff, food was a culinary treat in The Grange restaurant... More

Nice hotel and good restaurant. Has some charm and well located in Sacramento. The hotel is in an older building and has been renovated, and that makes it not feel like every other hotel. They also play with the theme throughout the decor, which is a nice touch. The restaurant is very nice, although a bit noisy. But the staff... More
