Spent the weekend at Cavallo Point for a quick getaway, following is a quick snapshot of likes and dislikes: Liked: The historic buildings facing the parade ground and stunning view of SF across the Bay. Disliked the fact that the room just didn't seem clean--dust under the bed, dinged-up furniture, a wood floor that needed refinishing. Liked: Very nice spa... More

We had a fantastic stay in a historic suite. Cavallo Point is extremely dog friendly. We spent time at the fitness center and spa facility, ate dinner at Murray Circle (which was excellent!), attended yoga in the morning, and took our dog on a guided walk up to a scenic viewpoint of the Golden Gate bridge. It was a wonderful... More

Cavallo Point is a wonderful mix of old and new. The huge property is beautiful sitting in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge and offers an abundance of natural beauty. It's just as easy to sit in a rocker and enjoy the views as it is to take a hike and explore the Marin headlands. The breakfast on the... More

On a holiday road trip from Southern CA to Medford, OR we stopped Christmas Day for a one night stay at Cavallo Point. It was just after sunset when we arrived, but even then, we could tell this was a very special place. We were greeted by two genuinely friendly people at the front desk and check in was a... More

I recently had booked a 1 night getaway here for my girlfriend and I. About 3 weeks before our reservation I decide that I wanted to propose to my girlfriend at Cavallo Point during our upcoming stay. I called the Concierge to get some ideas of good places to do the proposal and any other tips. They were extremely helpful... More

this is a very unique place to stay, so close to SF but feels a world away. there are old (historic) and newer rooms. I stayed in an older room. the first thing that struck me is that the ONLY heating mechanism is a gas fireplace (despite there being a huge radiator in the room). When I walked in the... More

My husband had it right when he said "this place has great potential...the location is terrific, the rooms are good but the service is horrible...if they can fix that, they would be a top notch destination". This pretty much sums up our experience at Cavallo Point. From the moment we drove up it was bad service, after bad service. The... More

I have so many wonderful shots of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunrise and sunset. It is a serene setting and we had a great view. I loved the room, especially the fireplace. It was New Year's eve and the place was buzzing. Our room wasn't ready when we got there so we walked around the shop. The Valet guys... More

We loved our experience from the start to the finish. Wonderful Staff. Attention to Detail! Our room was in the Historic Section...very nice. We could lay in bed and see the San Francisco skyline. Grounds are lovely. Spa very beautifully appointed and a great addition even if you go to sit by the pool, steam room or jacuzzi. The Dinner... More
