This was our 5th summer at Elk Point Lodge! This is a beautiful place with lovely cabins and porches that entice you to sit outside and read a good book or feed peanuts to the chipmunks. The horseback riding is one of our favorite activities. Pete and Beth, the wranglers, are delightful and make the trail rides such fun. Lark... More

We took the family of 5 plus the mother-in-law. We stayed in two cabins (6 & 8) for 5 nights. Cabin six has a great view of the lake and is secluded behind the main lodge. It had 2 twin beds in a bedroom & 1 queen in another with a small tv with satellite. These were upstairs and shared... More

Our family recently rented all of the cabins at Elk Point Lodge for our family reunion. This property is about 45 minutes northeast of Durango, Colorado. The owners were very accommodating to our group. Each of the cabins were a little different in their amenities -- some had large refrigerators, some had small ones, etc. But since our group was... This was my family's first trip to Elk Point Lodge, but it won't be our last. You can't help but feel any stress you have slough off as you pull into the area. My wife, our young son, and I stayed in cabin 4--it has an amazing view of the lake and a great deck with room to enjoy your... More

Where do I begin??? This is our second trip to Elk Point Lodge, and it was even better than before! Our son, daughter-in-law, and 3-year-old grandson joined us this year; along with our best friends. It's always a little scary to recommend a place to others for their vacations, but we felt they'd really love Elk Point. And we were... More

My wife and I stayed here in August of 2011 for two nights. The drive in was pretty cool, around Lake Vallecito itself, though I wouldn`t reccomend you get here at night as the track to Elk Point itself is fairly hard to spot, and pretty rough & ready. We recieved a really warm welcome from the very friendly Lark... More

Had the best time with our family for a much needed family summer get away. We now claim this property as our summer tradition to spend time at. We had the most relaxing time in our cabin with a beautiful lakefront view. The staff is absolutely 100% accommodating and so nice. Our kids had a blast hiking, biking, horseback riding... More

We've been staying at Elk Point Lodge for many, many years... and it is always one of our very favorite places to stay. The cabins are always tidy, and the owners are such wonderful people. Our stays are always very pleasant. We often start planning our next vacation back there as soon as we leave!! I truly cannot say enough... More

My husband and I spent a weekend at Elk Point and thoroughly enjoyed the mountain air there. We stayed in Cabin #9, which was small but adequate and clean. Sitting on the deck in the evening among the tall pines was peaceful and pleasant. Our cabin was not on the lake, but it wasn't a long walk to the water's... More
