We really really wanted to like this motel. But unfortunately, it was impossible.
The motel is maybe circa 1930s with very few upgrades, repairs, etc. done over the years. It has tilting/sagging floors that make you feel dizzy when you walk across them. There are dark wood panel walls, single pane windows caulked shut, dingy styrofoam ceiling with stains (and I mean styrofoam like the kind you might haul your fishing worms around in). There was visible air space around the exterior door.
The ancient carpet was stiff with filth - never walked barefoot on anything like that in my life. The plastic curtains with small holes don't quite shut, so a paper clamp is provided to clip them closed. The window sill was littered with dead flies.
The bathroom is tiny with no counter space for cosmetics. No toiletries are provided except bar soap. No hair dryer. The bathroom fan was so extremely loud it was scary - so turned it off. The bathroom door sticks to...
