Spent three nights car camping in a tent site recently. Very pleasant interactions with the staff during reservation and check in. Site was clean, had a shady spot for the tent and a picnic table. Bathroom and showers were very clean, best I've seen. Would definitely camp there again.

This is a beautiful campground and we also asked about campfires when we first arrived and were told that no wood fires are allowed. One evening when we were out walking we saw what we thought was a wood campfire. It turned out to be a self-contained propane firepit. It looked just like a real campfire! I also have to... More

Super nice staff. The bathrooms are always clean and smell nice. The creek runs through the camp and it is wonderful! The only problem was that there are no campfires allowed although we did see the camp attendants have one.

I'm hesitant to give a review since I would rather that this campground not get too popular. This is the best campground we have ever stayed at. Quiet day and night with a stream running through one side of it. The grounds, bathrooms and showers were spotless. The hosts were helpful with everything that we asked about such as local... More

We stayed here over the holiday weekend. Our site was private and next to the creek. The staff were incredibly friendly and the bathrooms were spotless. We HIGHLY recommend this place. We even cancelled reservations elsewhere to stay a couple of extra days. We'd definitely go back.

I've been here twice before, once tent camping about 15 years ago and then a small cabin 2 years ago. This time we brought our trailer and camped next to the creek w. full hookup. The setting is wonderful, creek was running and the air was cool. Every staff person introduced themselves to us and shook our hands making us... More

This RV park has a very nice setting ... off the main drag and on a nice creek. Very quiet and nice and dark for sleeping. Very clean and lots of trees and level spots. The people were very friendly and accommodating and I'd definitely stay here again. We didn't look at the bathrooms or showers so can't comment on... More

We stayed in one of their cabins by the creek in May 2012. It was the perfect time of year to leave your window open to fall asleep to the flowing creek. The staff was very friendly and the campground is well maintained. The bathrooms/shower house were very clean. It's location is just far enough outside of Durango to make... More

I stayed at Lightner with my dog Sasha in July, 2012 for 3 days in camper cabin #1. I had a tent, but the cabins were so reasonable vs. tent sites, I opted for more room and protection from the elements. I cannot say enough great things about this campground, it's facilities and most of all staff. Joe and Cheryl... More
