Very charming old hotel in a touristy little town in the Rockies. Nothing bad to say, but keep in mind it's quite different for your average American lodging. Nice, well maintained suite with a a little gas fireplace, sometimes noisy. Free wifi and a nice veranda for snacks. Overall recommended.

Great hotel, very nice. At the end of our stay, we were hit with an $18.00 per day + tax service fee for tipping the hotel staff. We had been tipping them all along, so it felt like double dipping. The service was great, just be aware for the small print

The service was great and the location an easy walk to downtown Manitou Springs. Rooms are lovely, nicely decorated and clean. We stayed in the Henry Ford suite which had a king bed, sofa sleeper and luxurious bath. Nice veranda with food and drink service. Good breakfast buffet included. Great hotel!

Situated right in the Manitou village, the hotel gives us good chance to explore so many arts and craft shops and tried out good eating places in the village, itself is full of interesting buildings. Houses around the area are also of valuable architecture from last century. Exploring the area is good fun. The hotel rooms are very well maintained,... More

We like historic hotels, and wanted to try this one. It has charm - the staff is especially nice. We splurged on a suite - not one of the historic ones, as most of those had queen beds and we wanted a king. Our suite was fine - just one room, but it had a little gas fireplace and a... More

We hosted our wedding and reception at The Cliff House and we cannot say enough good things about the experience. The service was beyond exceptional, and the food was absolutely perfect. The wedding cake the pastry chef prepard was absolutely divine - can't wait to get our 1st year anniversary cake from them. The wedding coordinator went above the call... More

Wonderful location, of course, in the heart of Manitou Springs. You walk out the door and you can stroll the cute town. The room was very nice (we had a Jr. Suite), and the bed was really comfortable! There was live piano music on Friday night. We had dinner in the restaurant and I'd definitely give that a thumbs-up... really... More

This is a 5 star hotel, BUT it is expensive. This is a historic 1800’s hotel that was heavily rebuilt / refurbished about 15 years ago. Pros – Great Location, very good staff, very neat & clean, well run, well built. We stayed in the Firestone Suite which is a very nicely built and appointed room with a great view.... More

We stayed at the Cliff House in late April and explored Colorado and Manitou Springs. The Cliff house was a wonderful experience. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful and the room was clean and elegant. The rooms were not very big but were very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and more than your average continental. The location was ideal and... More

The Cliff House is a modernized Victorian hotel just steps from main street of quaint Manitou Springs. The staff is attentive but not the least bit imposing or stuffy. I don't think the valets or bellman even expect a tip so please be generous. They have a great breakfast buffet in the dining room that as a wall of windows... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
What makes a hotel truly special?Prestige? Romance? Luxury? As a four diamond Colorado Springs Hotel, these attributes are very important, and we have each of them in abundance, but none of them matter as much as... the stories. The stories that are started here, by brides and grooms celebrating their weddings. The stories that are commemorated here, when couples choose us for their anniversaries. The stories that are shared here, when family vacations become unforgettable memories. Our stories really do matter: they define who we are. You see, as the premier historic hotel of the Greater Colorado Springs area, our history is forever intertwined with what we are today. In fact, The Cliff House is older than the State of Colorado itself! And just like your story, we have had our ups and downs: we have played host to famous dignitaries, and we have been a barracks for soldiers. Later floods and fires have even threatened our hotel's very existence. But, just like you, we've persevered. After our extensive remodel and grand re-opening in 1999, we quickly proved that The Cliff House is once again one of Colorado's finest luxury hotels. Nestled at the foot of majestic Pikes Peak, we've managed to keep all the trappings of Victorian elegance and luxury and also become a leader in innovative room features with state-of-the-art technology. Since 2001, we've consecutively received the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award for both the hotel and our dining room. Our dining room has also received the DiRoNa Award, and Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, every year. From our world-class fine dining, our amazing rooms, personalized service, our fun new bar and grill, to the limitless experiences and activities Manitou Springs has to offer: we are confident that you will love your stay here... and what a story you'll have to tell! We're proud of our history. Come share yours with us! We're within ten minutes of downtown Colorado Springs, but (rest assured) a world away! ... more   less
