Stayed at hundreds of accommodations, but am inspired by this place to write my first review. I rolled into town late at night and tired after a 1000 km leg of a motorcycle trip. Teresa and Derwood I found to be wonderful hosts, and their efforts certainly show in the care and cleanliness of the motel. I don't need to... More

Poncha Springs Lodge is right on the highway and is at the foothills of the Rockies. Nice and clean lodge style rooms. The bed was comfortable and it was super cozy. Lovely landscaping and lots of places on the property to enjoy the outdoors. Great restaurants just 4 miles away in Salida.

I had a weekend event in Poncha Springs a couple weeks back and was coming in town late. I had already reserved a room but had only planned to stay one night and camp the next. After arriving I was shown my room and was delightfully surprised. Although the room was a bit tight, it worked perfect for me and... More

We needed to spend one night in the vicinity of Monarch Pass and chose the Poncha Lodge. We were very pleased with this establishment. We chose the King room and found it was exceptionally clean, nicely decorated, and had a very spacious bathroom. The mini-fridge was especially useful to us. A real bonus, not typical of many motels, was that... More

Outstanding example of what top-tier motels of the 50's 60's used to be! Absolutely spic and span and excellently maintined inside and out. Comfortable cozy rooms. Close to everything "Rocky Mountain" for day trips, fishing, rafting, hot springs, hikeing and more. Poncha Lodge has a wonderful "back yard", overflowing with flowers and trees, Hot tub, fire pit/BBQ, picnc area, relax and... More

We were tired, having driven from Las Cruces, my wife said we will stop at the first place. This place was great, the owner from Texas was so friendly, the cabin we had (12) was so nice it was like evident that owner's pride showed in every direction in our cabin. I felt that this would be a good base... More

Teresa and Derwood were wonderful. The new hot tub is fabulous. Wonderful people in just the right spot for skiing at Monarch! Will go back every year--as long as they are there! AND they are also motorcycle-friendly! John--Colorado Native, Skiing since 1958.

Friendly owner, clean rooms with nice rustic style, comfy beds, no odors, well-insulated so we heard no road noise even though the place is located on a small through road (not on a super highway). We skied at Monarch from there--an easy ride. No reason to pay more to stay in Salida. You can drive a couple miles to go... More

Stayed at Poncha Lodge during Spring Break. Truly what "quaint" is about. Great location to stay for Monarch or Breckenridge, and Factory Outlet shopping is nearby in Silverthorne. The owner is awesome! Very helpful and knowledgable about the area. Ski and snowboard rental is just a minute or two away, and there are several restaurants that are close by. We... More
