I just visited the Mayan again for a weekend mini vacation. It was good except for the roaches. It wasn't too bad just a few german cockroaches I saw. They really need to get a hold on the bug problem. I do not know if they have a pest control. If they could rid the building of roaches it would... More

There are two types of hotels on Daytona Beach these days - the brand new hi-rises charging big $$$ and the places that have been around for a long time, slowly disintegrating into the sand. The Mayan falls into the second category, but you could do a lot worse (for more money, too.) Rooms are not huge, but not tiny... More

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, no bug issues. The staff was nice, and this was a comfortable size room, but there were some issues. First the good stuff: The biggest benefit between this hotel and the motels I have stayed at in Daytona previously was the provided breakfast - dry cereal, instant oatmeal and grits, toast with... My husband and I stayed at the Mayan Inn in 2011 and thought it was a great place for not only location, but service and room quality as well. We returned for a night this passed weekend, and it will probably be the last time we visit this hotel. I paid a little extra to book an Oceanfront King Bed... More

Did not have proper amount of staff to deal with a holiday full house. Waited 2 hours for a room that was booked 5 months ago. When asked why others walking in were getting rooms right away, we were told thats the luck of the draw. When we finally got a room, it was still dirty! The owner of this... More

In most cases, I go out of my way to post good things about a hotel. All my wife and I need are clean sheets, a hot shower and peaceful atmosphere. Whether it be 1 star or 5 is almost irrelevant, as long as these minimal requirements are met. That being said, we got the Mayan Inn through Priceline.com and... More

My wife and I decided to stay in Daytona Beach last minute and were looking for a reasonably priced hotel close to Main Street. The Mayan Inn fit the bill. Despite the reviews, we decided to take a chance for the one night we'd be there. It was well worth it. We arrived about 7:00PM, and the clerk couldn't find... More

I've stayed at the Mayan a few times during bike week. It is one of the more affordable options in spite of its' great location. Location--5 stars--on the ocean and a 5 minute walk, stumble or crawl from Main street Staff--4 stars-- They are always helpful polite and friendly. Condition--2 stars--getting worn This is a former Best Western and is... More
