We were driving west on the Alaska Highway late March and were concerned about finding a place to stay at all on this lonely stretch of road. We called ahead and reserved a cabin and were very happy with the accommodations. Our cabin was roomy with a comfortable bed, comfortable heating, a few television channels and free WiFi. The food... Toad River Lodge is one of the few places open year-round on the long stretch between Fort Nelson and Watson Lake on the Yukon Border. There are four rooms in the main building and several cottages outside. I can only comment on the four inside rooms:

I first encountered Toad River Lodge back in December of 1995, and my wife... More

Driving along the Alaskan Highway from Fort Nelson to Watson Lake we found this lodge a very convenient spot to stop for lunch. We had chicken and vegetable soup and some bumbleberry pie and icecream. The food was very nice and including a t shirt for our daughter (adult size) it cost us $50. We considered this good value, considering... More

We have stayed at Toad River Lodge a few times now. The rooms are comfortable and cozy but a little pricey. But then again you are in the middle of nowhere and the room rates back in Fort Nelson, BC are comparible or even higher in price! So it is not too bad. The water in the shower does have... More

We stopped in to Toad River Lodge for lunch. The first thing that hit us was the “specials” board … well, to be more precise, the prices on the board! Yes, I know this is the “middle of nowhere”, but if you stop to eat be prepared for some high prices! We all ordered soup which was not too bad... More

I'm writing this on behalf of my parents (who are not internet savvy), who have passed through the area to visit me in the Yukon a few times now. On their second trip they discovered Toad River Lodge and RAVED about it to me when they arrived. They had a truck/camper set up this trip. Their third trip was August... More

My husband and I stated at the Toad River Lodge, Northern British Columbia on Saturday, November 12, 2011... the room was fine... beds were comfortable... problem comes when you want to take a bath or shower... the water is iron stained and stinks... you wonder if it is really worth it to shower because of the bad smell...

This was a mediocore accomidation along the Alaska Highway. There was hair in the bathtub, but no cobb webs. The kitchenette was a nice touch. However on our way home we stayed at the Poplars Campground and it was beautiful. The Poplars Campground cabins were by far our best accomodations on our trip.

We stayed at this place going west and were put into a cabin with our group. It was adequate and had kitchen facilities which would have been nice had there been food available. The water smells terrible! On our return we were put into a room attached to the main building and it was horrible. It was very tiny, smelled... More

We were moving from the states to Alaska and ended up staying at the toad river lodge. When I went in to ask how much a room was for 2 adults 3 kids a 2 dogs they told me $79.00 plus $15 for the dogs. That seemed reasonable so we decided to check in only to be charge $150 for... More
