The Mermaid and the Alligator was such an amazing place to stay. We found it online and my decision to stay there was based on the amazing comments about it I read here on trip advisor. We were heading to KW for two days during our week in Florida (Jan 7-9th). I was not dissapointed at all, in fact my... more

We have stayed in hundreds of bed and breakfasts and enjoy meeting the owners/hosts and fellow guests. This was also our ninth visit to Key West. Our room was lovely, on the second floor with a private balcony and it was immaculate. The location was on the corner of a main street and very noisey although it quieted down at... more

The Mermaid & The Alligator is one of the few remaining Inns in Key West where as owners we actually live on the property. On Christmas Eve we greeted our arriving guests and settled them in their room before running off late to church and Christmas Eve dinner. On Christmas Day we had family and a few close friends over...

The Mermaid and the Alligator was a great place to stay. The owners and workers were very friendly and helpful as far as things to do. The room was beautiful and the then entire house was well kept. We stayed in the Bamboo Room, which was much bigger in person then the pictures let on and was a perfect place... more

A lovely and relaxing 3 nights at the Mermaid and Alligator. Our first time to stay at a bed and breakfast. They serve a more than adequate breakfast and the other guests were delightful. Almost all of them had been there before repeatedly and had tried numerous other B and Bs but keep coming back to this one. Our room... more

We have stayed in many hotels and a few B&Bs around the world. The M&A is up there with the very best and is also quite personal. By that I mean that you quickly get to know the owners and their help and the dogs. All this is managed without being in the least intrusive. The Christmas decorations went up... more

After spending 4 days at a huge private estate in Islamorada (where we got married), we spent 3 days at the Mermaid and the Alligator for our mini-honeymoon. I have to say we were in complete secluded paradise in Islamorada, so it took a very special place in Key West to not disappoint us. The Mermaid was perfect! The gardens... more

My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Mermaid & Alligator. It took me forever to decide which B&B I wanted to stay at in KW - there were several that looked interesting. I have to admit one of the reasons I picked the Mermaid & Alligator was the name - I know, dumb reason! We were so pleased... more

The lady who runs the desk helped us find activities and rentals for bikes. We felt very much at home and I would stay there again. It was also very nice to come "home" and dip in the pool. Oh, the gardens were a paradise. more
