We stayed in a small cabin, fine for what we needed. Mini fridge and microwave and small sink. Lake is pretty and saw some gators and birds. Pool looked okay, but was too cold to swim in. I know I saw somewhere on the website that it was heated, but maybe that was the main KOA website. Didn't have much... More

Spent two nights because of a special buy one night get second free, thought the original $50 per night was overpriced for Pahokee, but wanted to try new KOA in the area. Some special, at check-in I was told an additional $9.95 was due for electric, I had never heard of that and I was ready to walk out but the... This past December I went back here with my boyfriend for the weekend. As of the new year, they closed the cabins, campgrounds, and tiki bar. Apparently they turned the property over to the city...

I always wanted to visit this big lake in the middle of Florida. Lake Okeechobee is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida, and seeing it from the shore it looks like the ocean. We visited the Lake Okeechobee Outpost with the hope of spending the day there enjoying nature, and at the same time gathering information for... More

My boyfriend and I had been looking to go somewhere for weekend but couldn't decide what we wanted to do. We ended up choosing the Outpost because it wasn't too far, but far enough for our little get-a-way. I didn't know anything about it, but we took a shot in the dark and LOVED IT!! I brought my dog too,... More

I went there today for the first time to scope it out for a future trip.I wasn't pleased with the area. The fishing dock was filthy and was full of what appeared to be transients fishing for the days meal. It kind of reminded me of skid row but on the water.Homeless looking people on dock do not give off... More

Although the cabins were cozy and nice inside, I was tremendously dissapointed with my boating experience as well as the customer service. I rented a boat for a 4 hour fishing trip by myself. 30 minutes into the trip, the boat broke down because the battery had died. After being stranded miles out into the lake for almost an hour,... We thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of a little cabin right on the edge of Lake Okeechobee. Be sure to get one with a screened-in porch, tho! The mosquitoes, dragonflies and gnats can get to you if you don't - but most of the cabins here have the screened porches. We went with a "medium" cabin for this visit, and will... More

The accomodations were just as described in the website. It was peaceful and serene. I was able to get a discount with my accomodation using my KOA Kard, so that was a bonus. We rented the medium size cabin which is perfect. It has all the necessities and comforts that we needed. The TV however, did not have a volume... More
