Immaculate. The grounds are beautiful with attention to detail. They have thought of everything. It is very quiet and peaceful. Tavernier is a great location to see the Keys. We went snorkeling, kayaking and drove to Key West. Would absolutely recommend!

This is our third time at Island Bay Resort since 2020 and it never ceases to be the best resort we have ever been to. The resort is small and not very flashy from the road but directly off Hwy 1 in Tavenier and once you pass through the gates you would think you were in a tropical paradise. The attention to detail is impressive from the array of flowering plants to the palm and other trees it makes you feel like you have discovered a private oasis. The beach is kept beautifully and there are a good selection of furniture from hammocks to couples chairs with umbrellas to a delightful tiki to relax and enjoy. There are an array of activities available including: snorkeling, paddle boards, kayaks (both single and double) and games like cornhole and bocce. We snorkeled almost every afternoon and used the kayaks at night to explore the shoreline and the nearby mangroves. The hosts, Lauren and Austin are pleasant and accommodating and seem singularly fossed on making sure that your guest experience is the best it can possible be and the cleaning staff are equally as nice and really make your stay enjoyable. This is resort is a treasure in the keys and deserves all of the 5 star ratings it has and more.…

Lauren and her team took care of us throughout our stay. The unit was very clean and had housekeeping available whenever we needed. They had a security gate that you needed a code to get into so very private. We went to the beach quite a bit and it was just so immaculate, beautiful surroundings, wonderful place to stay.

Lauren and Austin were the perfect hosts. Small resort, only 10 rooms, equipped with a kitchenette, a charcoal grill and super comfortable beds and pillows. The small deck outside each room was perfect, private enough for laughter and conversation yet scenic amidst palm trees and tropical flora. The small private beach though, was priceless. Couples lounging chairs, spaced appropriately apart, hammocks and tiki huts fit our every desire. Paddle boats, paddle boards and kayaks were plenty for use if/when we desired. Corn hole, ladder ball and some hook and ring game were fun pass times. A cooler was available in each room as were beach towels. There was an Elks lodge 2 doors down, a DQ Grill n Chill across the street and an Italian restaurant 2 blocks away. We stayed for our 25th wedding anniversary and thought this would be a 1 time visit but loved it so much that we will be back! It’s an 18 and older resort…cozy, peaceful and priceless.…

My husband and I are checking out today from this beautiful place. Currently having coffee on the beach with an amazing view! There is nothing to complain about this place. Clean, beautiful, friendly staff & amazing beach area. Free paddle baits, boards & kayaks. Cute room, ours on the small side but just fine. Has a king bed, nice bathroom and kitchenette. Nice deck in front. PERFECT place! Beautiful and relaxing setting.

Beautiful well taken care of small resort. Very peaceful and relaxing. We stated in Room#6 which had a large comfortable bed, nice living room area and small kitchen with full size refrigerator. The room was very well decorated with all the pictures being of local sites. A small deck out front was perfect for relaxing as were the numerous chairs by the water, the hammocks and tiki hut on the property. Parking area a little tight but very manageable. Our hosts Lauren and Austin were fantastic as were all the staff. A perfect place to relax. Our place to stay next time we are in the Florida Keys!!

From the moment the gate to this resort opened, we knew we would love it. It just felt peaceful and quiet and a place to relax. We were more than right!! I can’t say enough about the place! The owners take amazing care of this place to the point, they rake the beach in the morning! The grounds are filled with amazing plants, the beach has a few games to play, paddle boards, kayaks and the place only has 10 units. They don’t allow kids or friends of guests to visit…and that makes it so peaceful and quiet and there is always a chair on their private beach! Each unit has a little porch with two chairs and a table. Its just great to sit and relax at. If you need to leave, there is a grocery store a mile down the street. You can stock up your fridge. You can get burgers and chicken and grill them on a charcoal grill they supply to each unit. They have on site washing machine and dryer, Once you have your food, you don’t need to leave! Amazing sunsets (the neighbors play taps on a trumpet at sunset) are also a joy to watch! Everything is here for a get away. Just know, the room is small, but the bed is big! It’s big enough to sleep, have a meal, cook a meal and rest. Assuming you get good weather, you will have a great space outdoors to enjoy their paradise! We truly loved it and plan to come back some day soon! Thank you Lauren and Austin for your hospitality and letting me spend time with Frankie, the Old English Sheep Dog!…

Our first impression was that the owners love this place and go out of their way to make it attractive and special for guests. The private beach is lovely and the tropical landscaping is outstanding. We stayed in Cottage #7 for the New Year's weekend, which was remarkably quiet. Amazingly, we were alone on the beach at midnight watching fireworks in the distance. Sunset on another day was wonderful. By the second day, our cottage's conch shell decor became annoying, particularly the clutter of shell bric-a-brac on every horizontal surface. Hot water was unreliable, often requiring 5 minutes of running the water before turning warm. The parking spaces are so tight, certain ones are labeled compact cars only, and maneuvering out of a space is tricky. Do not bring a boat trailer or RV.…

The Island Bay Resort was absolutely fantastic. Location was perfect just outside of Key Largo but still close to everything. The resort was immaculate. There are so many options to enjoy your time there with the water sports equipment, fishing , hammock to chill and just overall relaxing. Great island vibe there. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage, and it was excellent. There was not one thing that we could’ve asked for as everything were supplied that you would want or need for a comfortable stay. The owners Lauren & Austin we’re super friendly, approachable & accommodating making for a memorable vacation!
