We stayed in a two bedroom, 1 bath suite on the second floor with a nice balcony. Reasonable price, minimal breakfast, lovely sitting room with fireplace at reception. Nice stay for a reasonable price.

We stayed at the Old Clayton Inn in October of 2012. The price was very affordable {even after paying extra for our dog}. The hotel is in "downtown" Clayton and you can walk to shops and restaurants. The room was clean but very old. The wall paper was coming off of the wall. The bathroom was so old that the tub was yellow. Everything was clean but aged. The bed was very comfortable and the quilt was very charming. The staff was very cordial and reccomended a nice resturant. I would probably spend the nite again.

This is a quaint little inn in a quaint little town. Other reviews say the hotel is outdated....but that is part of the charm....loved having an actual "key" for our room, not a swipe card. We LOVE the Old Clayton Inn for romantic weekend getaways! The hotel and restaurant staff are wonderful and accommodating. The rooms are charming and unique. The restaurant serves upscale food at decent rates. (And the French bartender, Dominique, is superbe!)
